Lasted 5 years, awesome!
This is a great mat when used and cleaned properly. I see other reviews mention mold, well duh, you can't leave wet mats suctioned all the time. After each use in our bathtub, I rinse it off and hang it on a towel rack within the tub area. These towel racks are on amazon, stainless steel and come with adhesive backing. Because of this practice, our mat went 5 years before any mold appeared....and the mold spots are so small it almost unnoticeable. We are very satisfied with this purchase and will be ordering another after this review.

This bath mat has been perfect for us!
I bought this a year ago for my toddlers after our other one got moldy and just bought another one for our other bathroom. It’s nice and big and sturdy! The trick is, take it out of the tub after every bath and hang it over the side of the tub with the suction cups facing up. I’ve done this and have had zero mold issues.

Better options out there
I feel like there's better options of this out there, but needed it quickly. This has similar feel to the walmart ones, but cost way more.

A pretty good mat for bathing our toddler
Edit: So, after using two of these mats over the past two years, and wondering about its comfort, plus my son's initial reluctance and subsequent acceptance, I decided to try something-- I took at bath and sat on it myself. I know, genius, right?! It's perfectly comfortable. I have no problem recommending this for little ones. Perhaps because the tub mat is introduced along with the switch away from an inflatable or other infant/toddler tub, little ones get a bit freaked out. Maybe I should've just climbed into the water with him those first couple of weeks to ease any of his worries. Anyway, I'll probably stick with this mat and order another one in 8 months or so when this one wears out too.Follow up: After a little over a year, I ordered a replacement mat. The new mat has nearly no odor at all! Honestly, the first one smelled toxic by comparison. When the mat was about a year old, a couple of the suction cups broke, and it began to discolor. it deteriorated pretty quickly after that. For the price, I still think it's a good product. And now three year old son is quite happy to sit and play on it. It might have been rough on his more delicate skin when he was just two.________________I've had this mat a little over 8 months now. I bought it for my then 22 month old son because he'd outgrown all baby tubs. As others have mentioned, it smells strongly of rubber for the first week or so. It was summer, so I left the bathroom window open and the odor eventually faded. My son didn't like the mat at first, partly because he missed the security of his inflatable tub, but largely because it isn't comfortable to sit on. So he stood and complained thru his bath. After I introduced a bunch of new bath toys, he decided this wasn't water torture, but he still wouldn't sit until just recently. He seems to prefer to stand or kneel and play with his toys anyway.

Mat prevent shower draining
Total waste of my money. Water cannot drain out of the shower.

Pay absolutely no attention to the negative reviews...
First, there is no 'plastic' smell, as it's made from latex-free rubber. I found there was little to no detectable odor whatsoever. Second, if you have a textured tub, there might be a problem with slippage no matter what kind of bath mat you buy. Short of gluing it in place (absurd, of course), it could slip somewhat. I have a textured tub, yet it gripped just fine, thanks. The product's picture is accurate and some reviewer complained of the color being off-white instead of white. Confusing. I always check the worst reviews first and, more often than not, find most of them humorous and ridiculous. My only beef (hence, the four-star rating) is the texture. I guess you need the bumps to assure that you don't slip in the shower, but why do they have to be so large? The bottoms of my feet are quite sensitive and I rarely ever go barefoot. This is the third different bath mat I've purchased from Amazon. The first was horrible on my feet, the second much better, and this one about as good as the second. But what distinguishes this one the best is the navy blue color. It not only matches my bathroom's decor, it won't show every speck of soap scum, etc. that won't go down the drain at first. If you get some kind of perverse joy out of constantly cleaning your bathtub, don't get this one. Get that phantom white one that the other reviewer wanted. Boy, a white bath mat just doesn't click with me. I heartily recommend this product, despite the rough texture (a necessary evil, I guess).

Don’t buy
Bought it since my little one now stands in the tub while we bathe her. But this thing does not grip the tub at all. It comes off easily and one can slip and fall. I almost slipped while taking a shower. I would return if I had the original packaging. It looks good but what’s use of good looks if doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do?! It’s supposed to help protect you from slipping in the tub. With this mat you will slip for sure! Don’t waste your money. Buy something else.

Perfect for Showers
I had ordered this for the shower, I have a corner show and it fits perfectly. You can tell it will last a while, it seems to be of a very good quality.

Very happy with this
Very happy with this. Was a great side, the width covered the bathtub and length was excellent too. It is thick and durable, and did not have a strong smell as some mats do at first. After a few times in the bath it was fine.

A pebble beach in your bath
Does its job effectively and has not discoloured after many months of use. It is not as big as some safety mats but that suits the compact bath in which it is used. Standing on it is a bit like standing in bare feet on a pebble beach and kneeling on it is even more uncomfortable but for the duration of a shower or quick bath, this is no hardship,
