So cute! I loved these!

I bought a few for stocking stuffers and tried it out on Sunday. Broke on a tiny trout. Reel is unusable. Returns are not allowed. I want my money back and I’m ashamed that I gave two of these as a gift.

the little reel is almost 100% plastic which is a shame but i bought it to replace a rod from a spinner combo i got a long time ago. these are great little rods if you keep in mind what you are using. i have caught 20+ in trout on these with the spin reel combo before with no issue. you have to play the fish and wear it out first you can't just drag them from the water and lift it out by the line or with a net not the pole and these will work surprisingly well. some tips as i've had a few of these now the guids might come loose just a small drop of super glue and they will be better than new just be careful not to get any between the sections of the poles so you don't glue those together. and most of the ones i've bought have problems keeping the first section out. to fix this unscrew the handle and wrap the end of the bottom piece of the pole with a thin layer of clear packing tape. you can find this same combo tho for around 3 bucks if you look around i got this one because i needed it quickly and didn't have time to wait for china's postage to think about shipping it for a month.

I recommend going for the spinning reel versions, which I think work better. For my own use, I am just using the rod itself and a fixed-length line. I'm fishing for small fish (kind of like microfishing, I guess) in an uncomplicated setting. The rod is surprisingly effective. Very flexible at the tip, but it doesn't break. Be careful when stowing away, though. Push each section individually to collapse it, so you don't put an uneven strain on the joints. Then it will stow away much easier. A fun item to have, when you have realistic expectations.

These are horrible and do not connect. Can’t even use it to see if it works. Gave it as a gift and the return window closed HORRIBLE

Did not last long. More of a novelty than anything else. My son really wanted this and it turned into a nuisance for him. Every time he went to use it he had to put it together and thread the line. Add to the fact that it is not that robust and it is now no longer with us.

I would have liked it to come with instructions on how to get it to work, it was a little hard to figure out but once we got it it was pretty cool. Made a nice gift

Yeah it is cheaply made and the reel is pretty much junk but the rod is suprisingly strong and it is fun to play with. For the price it is good for even a gag gift.
