Great set.
Hard to beat for the price. I felt like the blades dulled maybe a little quicker than others, but I was abusing them. You get so many, it's not an issue. The little cutting board was a great addition.

Great little set
I saw this and I wanted to get it but I kept going back and forth on it because the price was so low. I saw several others available that were either the same or within a dollar of the cost, some less and some more. I settled on this one due to the amount of the regular replacement blades it had. I am not familiar with the size of paper, A4 or A5, etc except I am fairly sure A4 is about the same as a piece of paper, printer paper or school ruled paper so I was surprised by the size of cutting mat, it's about 6 by 9 inches, but it's really thick and seems like a good one. The blades are in a small plastic box and the snap off replacement blades for the utility knife are in a hard plastic sleeve so you will not be cut accidentally. Overall, it is a good set for the money. I feel like I can never have enough craft knives and it seems like I end up buying a new one instead of replacing the blade but this way I have a bunch of replacement blades in an actual case and I probably won't misplace it, but when I have 2 or 3 blades in a plastic covered card that hangs on the shelf at the store, I can't keep track of them. I do recommend this for crafts and other things where you need a very sharp razor blade knife. It's probably not what a professional is looking for, but for arts and crafts and other things around the house or for school, it's going to be just fine for you.

Imperfect, but not terrible
This product is okay at best. Let's start with the mat. It's fine! I don't personally have any complaints and it does the job perfectly.Next, the ruler. The ruler is interesting in that it has the usual Imperial values on one side and also a kind of Metric-Imperial hybrid on the other... The inches are divided up into tenths! I don't know if this is any kind of a standard but it you find yourself using normal calculators to calculate inches it might be useful... Except there's two issues that are made worse by each other. The way it's stamped, there is no line at the edge of the ruler marking the beginning of the measurement, and. It's offset from the edge of the ruler by an unknown amount, making it slightly inaccurate. If one of the two issues were fixed, the other wouldn't be much of a problem, if at all.And now the meat and potatoes or the product - the blades. The handles are no different than the terrible Xacto handles where the gnarled locking mechanism is right where you hold it, making it easy to turn and loosen up as you use it. It's perfectly round, lending to rolling away, so considering how low of a bad Xacto sets with its basic handles, I don't think you could ever get worse. And this is an inexpensive alternative, so I won't complain. The blades are about as flexible and prone to chipping if you're not careful with them, however they don't seem as super sharp as an Xacto blade. I tested an official blade that I used a few times next to one of these on some 1/8" chipboard and these blades needed several more passes and they didn't cut as cleanly. To be fair the sheer number of blades could yield some duller blades but if so, I got unlucky with my test. That said they're not terrible, but I wouldn't expect the level of super sharpness you would get out of an official Xacto blade. All in all, this isn't a terrible set if you don't need precision, or need these in a pinch, or your blade needs err on the side of quantity over quality. They're still quite precise!

Love this!
I use it for wood carving actually. Pretty durable. Obviously you need to be careful. The metal is relatively soft when it comes to bending but it is very sharp. I cant push it too hard because the tip will break. Non the less I just bought it for fun. Absolutely love it and it is much cheaper than other stuff.

Not bad kit set but pad smaller than I expected
This set is great for all the hobby kits I build. I usually go through the blades pretty quick due to all the kits and this came with a good supply of replacement blades. The handles themselves are pretty nice and easy to remove and install new blades. The mat feels great however I am not a huge fan of the size. I normally work on a lot of zoids kits and normally have bigger pieces so I would like to have them all on the mat if possible after cutting. The mat is resistent so you do not have to worry as much about damaging it and it keeps your table surface clean from plastic cuttings. It is definitely easier for clean up as you can just lift the mat and brush it off. The blades do come with a carrying case so you do not have to worry about loose blades or cutting yourself. For me each blade last about three model kits before I need to replace it. The metal is great and the ruler makes it a lot easier to cut straight if needed. Overall this is a good set to have for smaller kits.

I wish the blades were better packed...
Great value for the money. The mat is fairly small, but I knew what to expect from other reviews. The blades are really sharp and there's lots of them. My only complaint is that when the package arrived, they were scattered everywhere in the delivery box, as they even tore through the plastic bag. When I tried to put them back in their container (carefully, although I am used to getting cut - I am a costume maker and it's inevitable in my field of work), they didn't even fit inside, and the lid barely closed. It seems as if they just put as many blades as they could in this kit, which is a good thing on one hand, but kind of dangerous on the other... Just something to keep in mind when ordering this kit.Nevertheless I'm very happy with this product, and I got what I paid for.
