Great unit but didnt worked for what i wanted.

UPDATE: ***** Changing from 5 star to 1 star *2 weeks into it, the box won't remain in ARC. Every time I turn on the TV, I have to walk up to it to either reboot this little box, or switch back and forth the switch between EXT and ARC.I contacted the seller, and didn't get a response.--- Original Review ---The Setup: PS4 Pro connected to the Samsung TV, and 5.1 surround sound system with Toslink input (no HDMI), and supports Dolby and DTS.The Samsung TV wouldn't pass the PS4 Dolby through the Optical Toslink. It would force PCM, giving audio lag, and also my sound system doesn't support it.So I bought this box to connect to the Samsung TV HDMI ARC port, convert to toslink, but send it as Dolby.Now I get Dolby surround as I wanted, from all the sources connected to the TV, with no lag.

I tried to buy it because it can be used as two kinds of converters. ARC to toslink onverter and HDMI to HDMI+toslink audio extractor.On the side of the product there is a EXT and ARC switcher that can switch between the two modes.I tested these two modes separately. First try the ARC mode. I connected the HDMI ARC interface on the TV to the input of the musou hdmi extrctor and connected the toslink interface my soundbar. it can work properly.Then I tried EXT mode, because the description says that the ext mode is equivalent to an audio extractor, so I connected the HDMI input to my TV BOX and connected the HDMI out to my tv and the toslink to the soudbar. Also works.So i think it is an audio extractor for TV which do or do not have a HDMI ARC interface.There are also two green LED indicators on the surface of the converter that let you know which modes the product is working on.A USB cable is included in the package to power the product and a fiber optic cable, which saves me the money to buy another fiber optic cable.In short, it is a good product.

device allowed my speaker to register with arc control but didn't allow any control. Tv remote couldn't adjust volume up or down not power the device on or off
