Healing Digestive Disorders, Third Edition: Natural Treatments for Gastrointestinal Conditions Review: Just an advertisement for his pills - I wondered why this book had no reviews, but got it anyway at the suggestion of my Dr. (who I am also not thrilled about). This book is nothing more than a very simple skimming/definitions of things you can get off the web, PLUS LOTS of information about how you can be cured if you just take the line of pills he sells. It is simply a way to sell his pills. He is not a Dr., and has simply "studied with" herbologists, etc. If your Dr. sells these pills (can't be bought at a store and are multilevel marketed-meaning expensive) they will have info sheets on them. Review: Great Assist - I gave this a five star because I saw myself (digestive symptoms) described in the book..and that is a first. It was a relief to know there are others like me and that there are dietary/chinese herb solutions that have worked for others like me. It was also affirming to learn I had self-restricted my diet in the way he was recommending. This was from listening to my gut and learning what was OK to eat and what wasn't. The disorder discriptions and herb remedies were also useful. The elimination food diet was new ...and following his advise on oils to avoid and other foods to eliminate has been very helpful and contributed to my digestive disorder healing.

Very limited audience.
The book relies totally on access to and knowledge of oriental / Chinese healing practices and medicines. It is useless for anyone not trained in oriental medicine or without access to a source of very obscure products. It is too basic for physician trained in oriental healing and impossible for someone who is not.

Excellent resource for those seeking a resolution of digestive disorders
I might be biased about this book since I use Health Concern's products in my clinical practice as an acupuncturist with good results, but I think this book is a godsend for people who are tired of masking symptoms with drugs and products that do nothing to cure the problem and often cause side effects that are worse than the illness itself. Andrew's own health problem and long standing cure of Crohn's disease is inspiring. While as the other reviewer noted that it reads like a manual to purchase his products, I find the suggestions valuable for those who want to know the why and how of disease patterns. If you get this book and want to try a chinese medicine approach by all means seek out a licensed professional. Aside from implementing dietary changes he mentions, trying medicate yourself is not a good idea.

Some good info, but I would have to completely disagree with some of the things he recommends, having studied gut health for the past 5 years. Oh, and it does read like a manual on how to take the author's supplements. I personally don't have a problem with that as long as they work, however if you live in the UK you will have great difficulty finding them. I emailed his company asking if they have any suppliers in the UK as I could not find any and they did not bother responding. So unless you want to pay crazy price for getting it from America for which in some cases you will need to pay extra for a consultation, it is pretty useless.
