The Unseen Lusitania
A fascinating and thoroughly comprehensive history in photos and text of the doomed passenger liner, Lusitania - before, during and after her demise. I recently purchased a vintage scrapbook of a woman who sailed on the Lusitania back in 1909. She had postcards and photos of the ship along with other mementos of her trip to Europe that year. It got me interested in knowing more about the ship. Being a Titanic enthusiast, my interest was already peaked in nautical history. In some ways, I think the Lusitania is a greater tragedy than Titanic. One was arrogant negligence, the other, calculated murder. I found it incredibly ironic that the captain of the Carpathia, who rescued Titanic survivors, was also employed on this ship for several years before its destruction. Whatever your level of interest in maritime disasters is, this is both a riveting yet sad look at a beautiful, majestic ship and her ill-fated passengers. May they all rest in peace.

Arrived in Perfect Condition!
It's important to me that a new book is in excellent condition when I receive it. My collection of Titanic and other Ocean Liner books numbers more than 250 titles, mostly hardbound. I have several books in the "Unseen" series, and I am familiar with Eric Sauder from from his work with the Titanic Historical Society, so I know I'm going to enjoy this book. Once I've had the chance to read through it thoroughly I'll report back and elaborate on the material.

worth it!!!
A great book. I am a big fan of ocean liners from 1900 thru 1965. Today's cruise ships don't interest me. This book is excellent with great photographs I hadn't seen before and plenty of details. Well worth the price.

A photo-biography of RMS Lusitania
This book contains many relative obscure photographs of the Lusitania and some not so well known information. The details about the ships design are very interesting and give an insight into the philosophy of the designers of the time. One slight downside was the comparatively small use of photographs from the wreck - some more would have been welcome. This book is definitely recommended to any naval historian!

Great Photos
Excellent illustrations of striking clarity, accompanied by a very informative text. The author clearly knows nearly every nut and bolt of this fine transatlantic liner.
