Briggs & Stratton 494585 Lo-Tone Muffler For 4 HP (10 CID) and 5 HP Horizontal and Vertical Engines

I have this old beast of a 1970s B&S horizontal 5hp motor that won't die. But one thing that does die with electron loss disease is the muffler. The old one, fortunately, was still in a condition to be removed without breaking the bolts.This guy was a perfect replacement fit, and the replacement bolts were crucial due to the aforementioned corrosion. Extra parts because my application did not require it.What else to say? Little quieter, B&S original part, not too pricey overall.

Replaced the muffler on a 45 year old Till and Plow garden tiller with a 5 hp Briggs and Stratton engine (model #130202) This is the vertical engine with the spark plug on top of the engine. Don’t buy the mufflers shipped from China which cost a few dollars less. I waited over five weeks for this same model muffler from a direct from China supplier. Never received and I believe it was a scam company. Amazon refunded my money and apparently removed the seller from Amazon since the listing was gone the day they issued my refund. This is the second time this has happened to me with direct from China suppliers.

Fits my 5hp 130292 1671 04 Briggs and Stratton perfectly. This muffler looks different, but it fits fine. It really quieted down my machine. The nice thing about this kit is it comes with new bolts, and everything you need. The other non-briggs replacement mufflers do not come with bolts, and if your mufflers rotten chances are your original bolts are rotten too.

Nice new in the box oem parts. Easy to install fits like a glove on my old 8hp snapper mower. This new muffler definitely lowered the sound level. Very much appreciated as the old muffler had broken pieces rattling around in it.

As for the product its self, I gave it a 5 star rating because it is just what its suppost to be and does what its suppost to do. Fit and finish was spot on. What I do have an issue with was the way it arrived from the supplier. They box it came in was totally ripped up and torn apart and very old as if it had been sitting on a shelf for the last 30 years. This box was inside the packing envolope and its a good thing because all the pieces were all over the place due the box being destroyed.
