Antec Notebook Cooler Basic

I bought this to keep my new Dell 15R (Sandy Bridge) off the table cloth at the dinner table. My old laptop (HP DV5, C2D) got hot enough to crinkle the table cloth pretty good. I wasn't really sure how hot this new one would get. That said, I started looking into something to get it a little elevated (and protect in case one of my daughters spill something!). This seemed to be the best bet so I ordered it. I knew it was rated for 14" or smaller and mine being a 15.6" was a little bigger. When I put my laptop on it, it sat alright. I noticed it was able to slide fairly easily since the rubber pads on the bottom of the laptop were wider than the Antec stand. I went to Wal-Mart and picked up some small clear rubber stick on pads in hardware. They were only a buck and after sticking them on the stand, my laptop no longer moves. I spaced them out properly and it doesn't wobble either. I just wish that Antec had added some rubber to this or provided something stick on in the event someone has a bigger laptop or their properly sized one doesn't have rubber pads on it. A good purchase overall, it's pretty solid.

I bought this for a mid '09 13" MBP for two reasons. First, for cooling of course since this is West Texas and summers are brutal, and second to angle my keyboard for more comfortable typing. As far as cooling is concerned I have seen no improvement but this is more due to the MBP unibody design than anything else. Since both cool and hot air are exchanged at the screen hinge area elevating a MBP has little effect on heat dissipation. But what this stand does do well is angle the MBP slightly and this makes the keyboard far easier to type on.

It's a good basic cooler for my Dell laptop. I had problems of my laptop overheating and freezing on me, but with this cooler it only happened once thus far. It's very sturdy and durable. It would be perfect if it had a built in fan, but otherwise It's definitely worth the buy.

This notebook cooler is a great product. It is basic and simple, but effective and gets the job done. It is also very affordable. It is all you need to keep your laptop cooler.

It cools down my laptop.I did not measure temp. before and after.But this device works fine for my ThinkPad T61.

this produt is ok. It won't cool a gaming laptop or a high performance notebook, but it's definitely worth it for ultrabooks and other notebooks that just needs a flat surface to cool itself. My only complaint is that there is like no rubber for the laptop on the cooler to keep it from sliding off when you use it on your lap or on the go on a train or something. They put a set of rubber feet on the bottom, but not sure why nothing for the notebook? My ultrabook is pretty small too (13 inches). Well actually if i place the cooler directly on the center it slides off, but if i move the cooler so that one of my laptop's rubber feet is touching i guess it's fine? But i do worry about it scratching my ultrabook since it's a direct metal to metal contact. Also i want to point out that for a sheet of metal 20-30 dollars is a little rediculous? Oh wells passive notebook coolers is a small market and i guess this is the price us (the customers) have to pay for :(

A little small for a 2017 macbook pro 13 but well made. I'd worry about scratches though.

Mein Klapprechner ist 14 Zoll breit. Dieser Belüftungsständer ist dafür definitiv zu klein, obwohl dafür ausgelegt! Der Rechner rutscht darauf hin und her. Das liegt daran, dass die eigentlichen Füße eben nicht auf dem Belüftungsständer Platz finden. Da die Unterseite eines Klapprechners i.d.R. nicht plant ist, kippelt das Gerät darauf.Die Verarbeitung des Belüftungsständers macht einen vernünftigen Eindruck. Optisch gefällt er mir auch gut. Er lässt sich gut zusammenklappen und in der Rechnertasche verstauen.

sono due anni che lo uso come base d'appoggio per il mio portatile da 11 pollici ed e' perfetto. e' in alluminio, molto bello ed elegante e permette di tenere i vs notebook arieggiati. Non lo so se andrebbe bene per portatili piu grandi, cmq ottimo acquisto. consigliato

Utile pour poser mon PC (PC de 13,3") sur mes genoux sans obstruer les sorties de ventilation.Néanmoins le refroidissement est passif, et cela n'apporte rien comparé à la situation où l'ordinateur est posé sur une table plate.J'ai opté pour une ventilation active (avec un ventilateur) lorsque mon PC est fortement sollicité (jeux, grosses applis...).L'essentiel du produit est en métal, léger et solide. La charnière en revanche semble moins solide, et la partie pliable est en plastique.Une fois pliée, l'ensemble tient avec mon PC portable dans la housse du PC, pratique !

Très belle fabrication. Une fois plié il tient parfaitement dans la sacoche protégeant mon Macbook. Sur une table, il remplit parfaitement son rôle. De plus il facilite l'utilisation du clavier en soulageant les poignets. Peu pratique sur les genoux mais il n'est pas fait pour.
