Just what I've been looking for
I'm a all-in-one person. This is a great grill-smoker combo. It meets 99.5% of my expectations and criteria. I wanted adjustable coal trays for heat management; descent size cooking area; pull out ash pan; storage compartment; caster wheels for mobility, and heavy gauge grilling grates that wouldn't warp. I got that and more with the huge temp gauge, stainless steel accents and chrome crank handles. The only thing that would of made it 100% satisfactory is if the gage of sheet metal was a bit thinker. Mine had some damage parts when It arrived. I like the look and idea of it so much though, I just straighten the bent parts and continued assembling it. A very god buy for $370 total. Cooks great!

Poor quality
The grill was very damaged when we unpacked it to start putting it together. After contacting Amazon, the seller and the manufacturer, we found out the company Landmann, is going out of business & there was nothing we could do for at least 3-4 weeks because Landmann is sending their replacement parts to yet another company. After spending this much on a grill, to say I am disappointed doesn’t describe my thoughts. Fortunately my husband can fix most anything & he was able to fix most of the bent/damaged parts. Still not perfect, but thanks to him spending a great amount of time, it looks pretty good considering. In addition to the dents on the grill top, legs, doors, & ash box, there were screws missing or damaged. Needless to say quality control & attention to packing items properly is not a priority for Landmann. Perhaps this is why they are going out of business. The warranty on the product is useless.

Could have been better
Overall I was somewhat satisfied the three things I do not like about the grill his one it's hard to get the ashes out of the smoker box and two the holes in the sides of the bottom storage let's rain and other things like cotton wood which got in and collected all over my grill cleaner third very poor Packaging the grill came severely beat up I had to get a 2x4 in a rubber mallet to get some of the things out and a part of the grill was broke a bigger box and some Star phone would have solved that problem but besides that it Cooks great

Almost great. But close enough.
Grill this is replacing, 12 year old Weber performer grill. Weber grill has been fantastic. Mine was the older version with the larger stainless cart. I considered replacing mine with another Weber but opted against it for two reason. 1. Newer cart is smaller. 2. Simply needed more grilling area. Ended up with this unit.Used it twice now so here are some early thoughts:As a grill. It's going to work out great. Played around with the three vents on the grill housing while cooking. Best way to maximize temp in the chamber though is to slightly crack the ash catcher under the coals to increase air circulation. Overall a very good grilling system. The holes on the dual adjustable coal trays could be slightly larger to help feed air to coals. Adjustment to coal trays in very nice. You can adjust lower air vent to help keep flare up's down. In time I'll figure out the vents but nothing to complain about regarding grill performance. As a smoker. Also high marks. As has been mentioned, the offset box sits a little high. The smoker box also has a high dome lid. This does not promote smoke flowing directly into the cooking chamber. I came up with a modified bypass for this. I wrapped the porcelain cooking grid for the offset chamber to prevent the smoke from escaping through the offset box lid. Played around with the 3 vents in the main cooking chamber and it worked like a champion. Smoked two full racks of St Louis ribs and two chickens for 10 hours yesterday. Everything came out perfectly. Not at all difficult to maintain cooking temp of 200 - 225 for extended time periods. You figure the vent adjustments out pretty quickly. The good. It's a relatively nice design with some flaws (high dome lid on offset box). Front access panels to add charcoal is nice. All kinds of cooking space. Probably double my old Weber Performer. Decent build quality. The not so good. It's been mentioned so I won't go into too much detail. But if you are expecting a pristine product right out of the carton this isn't for you. It's going to arrive looking like the factory did a little last second hand hammering before it shipped. Several pieces were bent slightly requiring a little sheet-metal fabrication work to put the grill together. Nothing major but do not expect all the pieces to arrive in great shape. It's not going to happen. No idea why Landman can't get this worked out because it's the only reason I don't give it 5 stars. I didn't mind a few dings to hammer out but most people might. I look at my grill as a custom one of a kind. The offset box design could be addressed. Easy enough fix by wrapping the porcelain cooking grid in foil when smoking something. Not something you should have to do to improve product performance. Then again I look back and some of the off the wall things I did with my Weber to improve it. That's the fun of grilling. One last note. This grill has all the looks that it will need a grill cover IMMEDIATELY. Just has a look and feel that the metal will go south in a huge hurry if it's exposed to the elements all year long. I don't think Amazon sells the cover for this grill but you can pick one up at Landman's web site. All in all, it's almost a great grill. They missed a couple design points along the way. They really need to figure out how to ship this grill from the factory. I'm going to enjoy using this grill for a long time though.

Lots of bluster about what a great product this is
Lots of bluster about what a great product this is, and some negatives as well. Mine arrived with semi-major damage. The grill took me about 7 hours to assemble, and I had to borrow the neighborhood kids to help with the super-tiny nuts, bolts, and screws. Instructions were barely adequate, and there was a separate sheet regarding a major piece of the assemblage. With that being said, still a piece of crap. The thermometer assembly snapped with almost no torque applied, and I have already switched out a bunch of components just to bring this grill/smoker into the realm of serviceability. With THAT being said, burns super-hot if you have the correct air-charcoal (hardwood lump) mix. Leaks like a sieve when smoking. Followed the advice of some previous buyers, and wrapped the smoker-box grate in foil, to funnel the smoke into the main chamber. Helped a little bit. Nowhere near championship quality. I can probably coerce it into line, but I shouldn't have to for that kind of money.

Awesome smoker! exactly what I wanted!!
Fast Shipping. There was some damage to the product when it arrived, but nothing I couldn't fix myself. I believe the damage happened in shipping. There was an issue with the hinge on the smoker box, I tried to turn it everyway possible to make it work and it just wasnt happening. I finally redrilled the holes myself now all is good. Instructions so 90 minutes assembly, took me almost 4 hours! Overall it is what i wanted, I have cooked several meals on it, all perfect!!
