Excellent curved 1080P 165Hz monitor for many uses!
I traditionally have used televisions as monitors in the past having excellent luck with LG and their PC-HDMI modes. But I started to desire a high-refresh rate monitor. 1080P to me is excellent- most content is distributed in Full-HD anyway, so a native 1:1 in video for most content is a feature for me as I find up-scaling to be awful, IMHO. I don't find the pixel density lacking for me either, (As I was using larger 1080P TV's as monitors for years anyway) and It is easier to push games to higher frame-rates when there are less pixels to render. I use V-Sync, so a locked 165Hz is very appealing. I also enjoy using 100% scaling so I don't have to deal with fuzzy text due to poor Windows scaling. The VA curved panel is gorgeous and exceeded my expectations. The OSD has options for different mode types, enabling FreeSync, etc. I find that while playing games I enjoy the FPS picture mode, as it boosts color and enables adaptive brightness to give you better dynamic range in darker areas. I believe it is controlling the entire panel brightness as I do not notice typical back-light ghosting as is common with local dimming zones. The effect is still desirable. When back to the desktop, I switch it back to text mode. The colors are returned to natural, the brightness becomes fixed, and text is now clearly legible (Not so if you use the FPS mode on the desktop)While 1440P and higher monitors are becoming the norm, I appreciate that you can still get decent performing 1080P monitors at such a reasonable cost. For me, the resolution is perfectly fine, and the refresh rate bump is much preferred. I highly recommend this monitor. The looks of the 1800R curved screen is amazing and I always get compliments on it when I show it off. It does give you a slightly more immersive experience when viewed directly as well.

Nice looking monitor, curve takes getting use to
So I bought mine out of the "Scratch and Dent" section of Amazon, saving $120 over Amazon new price. The monitor was listed as having big scratches on the back and on sides. I figured I wouldn't be looking at the back or sides anyway while using the monitor so that doesn't matter as long as the panel itself is good. Arrives 2 days later, Prime shipping, and come to find out, the monitor had never even been used and none of what was listed as being damaged was actually the case. The box had been opened and re-taped but the monitor itself still had the plastic on the back, cables all factory tied up in their respective bags, stand never been assembled, I know because the black paint on the screws was not chewed by screw driver. So basically the monitor I think was opened, someone realized they ordered the wrong one, or it was curved and didn't like or whatever the reason and just sent it back to Amazon. It's a perfectly new unused item with no damage anywhere. So I got one hell of a deal on that one.As far as the monitor goes, It looks very nice to me though coming from flat monitors all my life, the curve is different and takes some getting use to. I don't notice anywhere near the amount of motion blur as I am use to seeing from 60hz monitors even 2ms or lower ones. So far I am quite happy with the monitor and not being a professional hardcore gamer, it will be just fine for me. You get what you pay for and at the price point that I paid, this is a great monitor for the price. Hardcore gamers with deep pockets are going to look at more expensive monitors anyway, so expecting this monitor to perform like a $2000 or more monitor is quite stupid. 32 inches of visual stimulation right in your face is quite nice.

Seemed great! But after a year and a half....
Monitor seems great. Moving from a 60hz monitor to a 144hz was very noticable.-Make sure you are using a displayport cable.I really liked the monitor, great colors, bright and deep colors. But my problem with it after a year, It began to exhibit no display, the backlight would be on, the led would be blue. But nothing. I noticed this after the display had gone into sleep mode and auto turned itself off. After waking up the monitor I would get nothing.Sometimes restarting the monitor would get it working, but even then that stopped working. Same symptom, back light on, blue Led. The joystick would not be responsive either, It could only turn on and off the display. I've used multiple cables, and even hdmi cables, would be the same result, sometimes they'd work and sometimes they wouldn't.I don't know if you want to invest in a display that would last you about 1.5 years... I was hoping to atleast have the display working for 2-3 years. I've contacted Technical support, and have yet to hear anything back. Will keep this updated.
