Too thick to filter.
WAY too thick. I have a Toddy cold brew system that I've had for a few years now. I used the original filters much longer than it was suggested, and they worked great. I was about to purchase some off-brand replacements, but a lot of the reviews warned that they were too thin. I figured my best bet would be to pay a little extra to buy the manufacturer's filters. Unfortunately, they are so thick that the coffee doesn't want to drain through. After about four hours of letting my cold brew coffee do its thing, I ended up having to pour the remaining half through paper towels. The original filters I had would drip all the coffee out in about 15-20 minutes. I'm pretty disappointed.

Tried cold brewing with an excelso grade Colombian - smooth, lower acidity!
It does the job. We've tried generic versions of the Toddy filters, and they work just as well, too. We've gotten to the point that we are spending A LOT of money on excellent coffee. I didn't want to leave anything to chance though when cold brewing something like an exceptional Kenyan AA or even an Excelso grade Colombian which is known for higher acidity. The Toddy took that smaller Colombian bean and made it taste soooo much better than a Supremo grade Colombian.Long story short, the filters work.

Best Concentrate Toddy Pads. Great Price
Love these, have been using this system of coffee making for years now. I accidentally made the mistake of not cleaning out the grinds for a few days, left a plate over the top and didn’t know the grinds were still inside...ugh! Don’t trust the filter now.So each filter will last well over 15 brews. Squeeze out the pad under warm hot water only...no soap. This system also cuts the acidity out. Makes hot or cold brew, depends on the temp water you add. Measure 1 part brew to 2-3 water. 50/50 if you want a firm cup.

Cold Brew Rocks
If you like coffee, you owe it to yourself to try cold brew sometime. I find it has all of the good flavor that your beans can provide, but very little bitterness. My wife drinks it cold with milk and sugar, kind of a Starbucks concoction. But I microwave mine a cup at a time and drink it black. It's good both ways really. Anyway, these filters work fine with the Toddy cold brew system I've had for years.Just a hint - after I make a batch of brew, I rinse the filter and store it in the veggie drawer of my fridge (which doesn't get too much other use if you know what I mean). Then when I'm ready to make the next batch, I microwave it for a minute in a bowl of water. I figure this combination of actions will limit bacterial growth on the filter, which is good for food safety and also taste. I use a filter many times, until it starts looking bad. They're a bit like a men's disposable razor in that nobody in the business will tell you how long you should expect one to last, the consumer just figures out what they think works.

Using in a Ronco Brew System - with *A LOT* of trimming.
Purchased Toddy filters because the Ronco Brew System was discontinued and they are no longer making filter disks for it.These filters are about an inch wider and twice the thickness of the ones for the Ronco system, so as others have mentioned in their reviews, I had to cut these down to fit. I've only cut one so far and tested it out with clear water to make sure the bucket drains properly. Not too hard to trim to fit if you have a good pair of scissors and a Sharpie fine-tip marker to trace around the old filter. For lack of another source of Ronco filters, I would purchase these again (heck, I might even spring for a Toddy system in the future!)

Buy the filter bags instead!
I bought these when I bought my Toddy Cold Brew system, and the problem with these period is they don't fit exactly right, so you have to cram them down into the filter hole and hope and pray that the ground coffee doesn't get past it. I ended up buying the filter bags, and they're a million times easier to use.

These filters last for quite a few carafes of coffee and the coffee taste's great! It is the only way we drink coffee ...
If you're a coffee person that's trying to get away from using mostly creamer in your coffee, the Toddy cold brew system is the way to go. These filters last for quite a few carafes of coffee and the coffee taste's great! It is the only way we drink coffee now. Warning: it may ruin coffee for you when you go out to breakfast.

WE LOVE OUR TODDY
According to the manufacturer, these filters should be replaced every three months, or after 12 uses. Since they don't appear to wear out, and not being a scientist, I was curious as to why they needed to be replaced. I was told - DUH, that it is because of the bacteria that grows on them. I pretty much stay within thee usage guidelines, but before each use, I put the filter in boiling for 10 minutes. I feel safe keeping and using them for 3 months before replacing them. I also put them in a NEW storage baggie after each use, and after rinsing them. Also, I have two separate filters in the refrigerator at all times, one for coffee and one for tea - the best iced tea we have ever had.

Doesn't work
It doesn't filter. The brewed coffee doesn't go through. I've lost many batches because nothing comes through so I end up having to dump the batch or try to transfer it to a paper...
