Just as it looks, unit is made of one monolithic block of aluminum. Now I can't speak to what exact alloy it is, but there's not much that can go wrong here unless you over-torque the threaded mounting holes. As it is, it's a nice, beefy, strong unit. But still quite light. Works just fine.
