I'm generally pleased with it
I bought this to mount on the underside of a Magpul MOE handguard installed on my Remington 870 shotgun. This is overall a decent budget light. I'm generally pleased with it, but displeased with a couple of points noted below.BUILD: It's made primarily of metal which is great. Compared to high-end lights such as the Streamlight TLR-1 however, it feels noticeably lightweight and cheap. Obviously it's a budget light and not even in the same ballpark, and other lights in this price-point are made of plastic bodies. I'm glad it's at least not plastic. The back battery hatch unscrews with 4 Philips screws and comes on/off easily enough. The switch (my main concern while purchasing it) turns out to feel solid and have a positive on/off click. It's easy enough to reach and toggle on/off. I could prefer the switch be on the back instead of the bottom however.RAIL ATTACHMENT: This is the primary reason I gave it 3 stars. 3 stars according to the Amazon rating system means "It's okay" instead of liking or loving it. It's borderline 4 stars, but I think 3 is more honest. The knobs on the side of the rail attachment points are quick-release knobs. Push down on them and the stud going laterally between the two rail slides goes down, allowing it to slide on or off the rail. The stud appears solid enough, but still allows some slop on the rail once it's installed. The slop is minimal and not enough that I'm concerned it would fly off during live-fire, and obviously with a quick release system like this you can't expect it to be rock-solid. Still though, the slop seems too much for my liking. Not enough to return it, but enough that I'm kind of displeased.BRIGHTNESS: This is the second reason I deducted stars and couldn't give 4 stars. This light claims 150 lumens. I'm not so sure I buy that. I have a Streamlight TLR-1 installed on my pistol and it claims 135 lumens. The TLR-1 is FAR brighter. I'm not saying this light is not bright, but I highly doubt the claimed 150 lumens. That said, I bought for my home defense shotgun, and for that purpose it's plenty adequate. I'm not taking sniper shots with this. It'll illuminate all the way down my hall and beyond, which is what I need. When buying lights the claimed lumens are often wildly exaggerated and this one is certainly guilty of that. I'd say more like sub-100 lumens.OVERALL: This is a decent light. It's reasonably solidly built and for $26 you really can't go wrong. It'll fit on a full-size pistol with a rail no problem. I tried it on my Smith & Wesson M&P .40c and the rail on the back of the light will need to be shaved off a tiny bit in order to get it to fit as far back as possible. For my shotgun, this is plenty adequate. For the money I spent I think I more than got my money's worth. For a home defense weapon this is a great budget option. If it's for a weapon you'll be using a ton, the extra $70 for the Streamlight TLR-1 would be a no-brainer.

for the money you can't go wrong
I didn't have to modify anything to get this thing to click right onto my Beretta PX4 Storm. I was reading a review from another fellow who has the same weapon and thought for sure I would have to follow his instruction to get it to fit (little shaving/filing). Nope, it clicked right on with no issues. It does rest of the trigger guard a little bit, and shaving a little off would free that aspect (I may still do it), but for the most part. Nothing is required for installation. The light is bright, and nicer than I thought a 30 dollar light would be. We'll see how it holds up, but as for now. I'm quite happy with it. It's just as bright as my Glock light. There doesn't seem to be a focus on this light, and the switch is actually a rubber button the on the bottom of the light, so you have to reach with your other hand to turn it on (two handed works perfect, which is how any pistol should be held). Again, this is a 30-35 dollar light, as I stated before, can't go wrong. The light is white/purple as compared to the Glock Light which is yellow (non led vs led). I did a side by side, and the Glock light has a wider field of view, but isn't quite as bright as the AIM. Trying to thow in as much information as I can to help someone make a decision about this one. Keep in mind that anytime you intend on carrying a light with your weapon, you'll probably need a different holster, and the one that accommodate a light usually stick out a bit further. For me this means that on the nightstand, I'll attach the light before bedtime. EDC (everyday carry), I'll run with it off the weapon as I would rather stay small/compact. Oh yes, it has 3 different color filters and comes with an extra O ring.UPDATE: I've found an incredible holster that I've been using with all of my weapons with or without lights. I don't work for them, I'm just a very happy customer. Look up VersaCarry on here. I'm a holster junkie and I haven't bought anything other than these since I've tried them. Good luck folks. Stay safe.

Good for the money... not fantastic...
A solid buy for the money (but there are certainly better if you spend more). Cree LED Powered a 3.0V CR2 battery. If you are not familiar with LED flashlights and lithium batteries, you will be impressed. This is far brighter than incandescent bulbs. I believe the 150 lumen claim. If you are knowledgeable of LEDs, some more details/observations:LED emitter appears to be an XR-E, not sure which bin. (R2?) Color temp is cool, but still a decent white on mine (not too purplish or bluish).Reflector has an orange peel texture so the beam is not very ringy... a pleasant surprise for an XR-E! Might reduce throw a small degree, but I am OK with that.Throw is typical for an XR-E in a head/reflector of this size. Perfectly sufficient for indoor use. Have not tried outdoors, but I would guess at least solid 15 yd useable range.Build quality is acceptable for the price. Mine did have some rough threads where the head screws in. I do recommend lubing with nyogel or similar. It looks like you can disassemble the head/pill, but I did not.The switch is an audible clicky. A little smushy and soft, but I have felt worse. It does work consistently and reliably. The biggest downside I see to this light is the way it mounts to the rail on the gun. It is "quick release" as advertised, but this means it is not incredibly sturdy. It can wiggle slightly when pushed by finger. It appears the lock tab is not as wide as the gap in the rail which it snaps into. This leaves a small amount of play. I have yet to shoot with the light attached and on, so I am not certain if this will affect performance. It may be OK. It is not super loose. This is the trade-off for the "quick release" design I suppose.
