I bought it use like I used my Freud 80
This is my fourth Forrest blade. First of this type. I bought it use like I used my Freud 80 ... for plywood and cross cutting when I want clean cuts. I need extras for when I send blades out so I decided to drop the extra coin on this based on my past experience with their blades. It's a nice blade. I'd call it "medium kerf" because it's not 1/16 ... guessing it's 3/32 ... haven't measured it. It's a lot stiffer than my thin kerf Freud. While it's labeled for ply and melamine, I've been using it for everything. I do try to change it out when I know I'm doing a lot of ripping so that I don't dull it too quickly. I send all my blades to Forrest for sharpening (even non-Forrest blades) and am very happy with their integrity, quality of work and how they contact me with options upon inspecting my blades when received.

Sharp but wonders a little
I bought the thin blade version and have regretted it. The blade is indeed sharp, and there is minimal chipping of the melamine. But the cut is not consistent. I used a sliding table jig with a stop block to cross cut the melamine shelves to the correct length, making shallow scoring cuts in both sides prior to making the completed cut. I know my jig is very solid and that the material was firmly against the stop block. But there was a very minor difference in the cut lines from one side to the other, as the blade seemed to flex ever so slightly. Given another choice I would have opted for the full width cut version to improve the rapidity of the cut.

Best Blade On the Market!
Far and away the best blade available. This is my first review. Normally I just get my stuff and don't bother with feedback. However in this case it is worthwhile. I got my first Forrest blade over 20 years ago and have never considered another product. I had a difficult veneer plywood project that demanded the best to eliminate chip out. This blade did the job and them some. Costs a pretty penny but totally worth it. I have sent my blades back to Forrest for resharpening and when returned they are perfect. Don't hesitate - buy this blade.

Unsurpassed Blade for Difficult Veneers
This blade was purchased for use on bamboo plywood, which is notoriously difficult to work with, as regular big box store blades can give poor results even with the grain, let alone on cross-cuts. This blade has given me excellent results both with and across the grain on bamboo and oak veneer plywood, as well as HPL and melamine covered cabinet doors, with no split out on the bottom face. If you are looking at this blade, it goes without saying that this is NOT a general purpose blade for ripping and cross-cutting solid wood (though might be acceptable for those working with very thin pieces of solid wood, such as jewelry boxes).

As advertised!
I have been using a 60 tooth forrest blade with a zero clearance insert for years. The (crosscut) results on plywood were just ok. One of my friends suggested I use an 80 tooth blade so I ordered a Forrest melamine/plywood 80 tooth blade. Man! what a difference!. Even without a zero clearance insert this thing is flawless. I am not sure I will be using anything else now. I guess the only reason to switch back to the 60 tooth would be if I wanted to do very hard wood, otherwise it will probably be my go to blade.

Forrest Great blade
cuts are smooth a glass and no tear out. Bought the blade to cut melamine coated particle board. Very nice cuts and easy assembly.
