Wedge Pillow Orthopaedic Acid Reflux Back Bed Support with Cover Washable

I have recently had an operation and i was unable to lay down this wedge pillow was just amazing for the solution i needed,Granted the pillow is hard but it provides the support and comfort i need right now, I couldn’t have slept a night without it that is for sure and i will highly recommend it to anyone who has just come from hospital after an operation, acid reflix sufferers and many other people, it suits many circumstances and needs,I would happily buy this item again if i had to and i would feel comfortable doing so,Especially at the price it is and especially for the quality it is also.

The pillow itself is very sturdy, meaning it's quite hard, so I guess that means it supports you well. The option of having at two positions, it great for depending in your sitting up or laying down. Only downside is that it's so firm that it's not at all comfortable, I decided to get a universal cover on here for about £5 and it definitely made it more comfortable. Or you could just use another thiner pillow or cushion as barrier which makes will also make it much more comfortable. On it's own it can be too hard and become uncomfortable after awhile; also causing discomfort.

The wedge does provide a nice angle when needed for medical purposes. However when it arrived it has a strong ‘industrial’ smell that my wife could not stand. Before using we washed the cover which was then OK. The actual foam wedge was not so easy to rid of the smell. We tried fabreze and leaving out to air but the smell persisted. Eventually wrapped it in a towel to reduce the smell whilst in use. So firm that it made sleep very difficult so tried a variety of pillow combinations, normal, V shaped and 12 foot U shaped. Eventually found that a very thick throw folded over and placed just under pillow position to the middle of the back enabled a comfortable night. Had to persist as required for recuperation from cancer surgery and teeth extraction prior to Radiotherapy will be needed for at least four months.

Got this for me as I find sitting or reading in bed very uncomfortable. My arms go painfully numb if they are above my heart due to low blood pressure. I have some experience with wedges. They can be awesome when you have a cold and struggle to breathe lying flat. I'm a side sleeper and yes, you can side sleep on these. The key is to slide your bum up to the edge of the wedge so your whole back is supported and not at a strange curve. Takes a bit of getting used to, but give it a chance. This was MY wedge. Hubby stubbornly refused to try it till he got very ill with GI problems. He finally tried it, now he says it's his, so I just ordered a second one, lol. Sleeping elevated can be a throat saver if you have acid reflux. Keeping your head above your heart also helps you stay awake if you're trying to read or meditate. This wedge is fantastic for the price. Nice and firm. The cover is a nice feature. You could always sew your own if you want something different. It makes sitting up in bed way more comfortable that leaning on a headboard. I'm really looking forward to my second one arriving. Plus a very nice benefit: husband snores way less when he sleeps elevated. I'm definitely a fan.

My husband has lung disease so imagine how i felt when i received this this morning, opened it up, and it smelled that bad that he was unable to breath near it.It smells so badly of mould or maybe even damp, some absolutely rancid smell that is making me consider reporting the item. I'll leave it in the airing for 24 hours, and if it's still bad or worse tomorrow, I'll be reporting the item to Amazon as a risk to health on lung diseased patients.Absolutely disgusting, left wheezing and having to throw it in another room, just to get some sleep, which was actually the reason it was purchased. This is a hazard and should come with a warning.

This is an excellent affordable wedge pillow option. The wedge is a decent height and provides significant elevation. It is firm but perfectly comfortable. I use pillows on top of it to cushion my neck and head. It took a little time to get used to feeling the wedge beneath my upper body. After a few nights I have not noticed it is there. If you have a long torso, the wedge may not be long enough. The removable cover is practical and convenient. Overall, a pleasing purchase that has diminished acid reflux for me at night.

I purchased this for an elderly 82 year old relative who suffers from COPD which recently has got a lot worse and she was having difficulty breathing at night. It has taken her a few nights to get used to it, at first she thought it was too hard but she has persevered and now with the help of an extra soft pillow behind her head thinks its wonderful. The last couple of nights she says she has slept better than for a long time and now can sit for long periods reading without slipping down the bed as before.The only fault I can really say is I wish they sold spare pillow covers but we have a friend who is going to make up some pretty pastel ones so that problem should be solved
