A must have if you are interested in these Goddesses.
I bought this on Kindle some months ago. As a student of ancient Egypt mythology it is a good book to read. It does cover more than the 2 famous Goddesses in that author goes over all the feline lioness Egyptian dieties.Well worth the money.

Not what expected
Not what expected from a $29 book , vague information about lots of gods and little information about Bastet .

Not a bad book if you want an overview about feline goddesses
Leslie Jackson obviously has done a lot of reading, even though she is not an egyptologist. I would like a little more inside knowledge, but as an overview it does it's thing.

Badly sourced and unacademic
Wish I could give it a higher rating, but 8 bought this book looking for academic information about a minor deity, Pakhet, and found that the author's knowledge in that area was so poor, and so badly sourced, I couldn't trust anything else they had to say.So the book states that Pakhet is a totally non-beneficent deity. I looked up the main body of inscriptions relating to her, from Speos Artemidos, and found that this deity is listed as the Queen of the Two Lands (Egypt), the Queen of Heaven, a Sorceress and mother of the pharaoh, among other epithets. The Speos Artemidos is the largest documented body of Egyptian lore that exists about Pakhet and it says she is anything but negative. So it's hard to believe a writer who writes about this deity without, clearly, ever having looked at this source.I'll return the book as its sourcing is poor.

Lesley Jackson does it again. 5 stars!
Another well researched and informative book by the hand of author Lesley Jackson. I really loved this book for many reasons. If you are interested in the great Goddess Sekhmet and also Bast this is a must in your library.
