How to Make 100 Ribbon Embellishments: Trims, Rosettes, Sculptures, and Baubles for Fashion, Decor, and Crafts

Great resource re: ribbon treatments and cockades. This how-to book is exactly what I was looking for to learn how to make embellishments for the 1920s hats I make.

I like that the book has simple, medium & difficult-looking designs. I will eventually try them all, even though I don't sew. Thankfully only a few designs require stitching. I think I will be able to do many of the really nice ones. Plan on doing the simple braid as a cord to hang our Office Olympics banner with. Next year, I will make the award ribbons myself since there is a design for that which looks perfect!

I've wanted to make these kinds of embellishments for a while, but all the instructions I'd seen so far were pretty intimidating. This book puts a lot of information in one handy place; well described, with plenty of illustrations on the making, and what things should look like when you are done. Also recommendations on widths/length/flexibility of the ribbons involved. There's a section on how to make your own ribbon, too.

This book has a lot of the ribbon techniques I've been hoping to learn for years. It was well worth the purchase price.

Good first book on ribbon craft. Covers creating linear trims, basic cockades, basic flower shapes. Uses: sewing trims, millinery trims, children's projects, gift wraps, maybe some home decor. Does not cover silk ribbon embroidery. Any large craft store can supply the materials needed.

This is a good "how to" book that will be helpful for embellishing my projects.
