2 PCS 6'' Black Deck Plate Kit Deck Hatch with Storage Bag for Fishing Kayak Boating

I got these to add a forward hatch on my Lifetime kayak. Mine didn't come with the hatch, but it was evident one could be placed there & after the cutout, it fit perfectly! Right from the package, I immediately noticed these were of good build quality & i was provided everything needed for the install,minus the silicone i chose to add. During installation, get a can of scotch guard or any type of water repellent & treat the outside of the bag. If the depth of the bag is an issue & is laying on bottom of your kayak, roll it up a few rolls & zip tie it in place. Last is to always carry zip lock bag's as a secondary protection for keys,phones,cameras or whatever can't get wet. Overall,I'll definitely recommend these hatches & I'm very pleased with the purchase!

I was shocked because of the price. I expected semi great hatches, but instead I received two good quality hatches. Well made for the price. They Even came with SS hardware to install. I used the foam sealing gasket for the template to cut my holes and installation was a snap. These hatches are for flat areas, installing on a curved surface will hence the door operation. The hatch seems to be airtight so far, but I would not call the interior bag waterproof. It’s a good quality bag, but stitching says it’s not waterproof. Expected, just put your stuff in a zip lock bag if it can’t get wet. The bags keep my gear inside within reach, the interior bags can be removed for cleaning. Great buy!

Easy to install, great water resistance from exterior and foam seal makes a tight-locking fit. Not necessary, but for ease of install, would recommend pre-punching small diameter holes in your foam seal for the screws (first 2 screws have a tendency to bunch/rotate the material slightly and you may have to back out your screws and reseat the seal). Very easy to open and should last a good long time. Red bag comes out a bit too easily for my liking, but for the price, you can’t beat the value. Red bag is not exactly water tight, so if your kayak leaks at all, your contents may get a little saturated from the bottom (if your kayak is leak free), you’re golden 🤙🏼 Would buy again for another kayak in the future.

This 6” round hatch is direct fit on malibu two xl kayaks giving the appearance of being original when new. I just installed 2 and can’t wait to get back out on the water. I used marine grade sealant to ensure a water tight fit when hatch lid is closed. Just a tip: do not use nail polish remover to clean the extra sealant as it is too strong for the hatch material.

I have yet to water test this, but this is a very well built set. Love that the bag can stay in or come out easily. Very easy to install. Spacious. Sturdy - was not damaged when my kayak flew off the roof onto the freeway at 80mph. The kayak is dead, but I removed hatch to install on another kayak I have. Tells you all you need to know :)

Installed these into my new lifetime kayak, they weren’t too bad to install, one went into the hole that comes in the kayak but has no bag inside, and I cut the other hole into the rear of the kayak under the bungee strap. Using the gasket to mark my cut out worked great. They seem to seal well but I’ve not tested them against water yet, will update if things end up wet. I’d recommend

I took a chance on this item and my idea is working perfectly. The bag for sure is not waterproof. I did buy a round screw top container from Dollar store. It is a tight fit but it will fit in the bag and then place the bag in the hatch. When you need to use just remove the bag and remove the top and dry goods in the plastic jug.Ok updateThis was a two pack and the first unit I installed was good. The second unit at the factory when someone installed the o-ring it did not make it completely into the groove. when closed it flattened and now will not seal. I cannot find how to contact the seller for a replacement part. I cannot return because it was a 2 pack and one is good and installed and the second one I already cut a hole in my kayak.Please open both to see if you have a problem before installing.i guess I will have to buy if I can find a new o-ring

Utilisé comme coffret de rangement sous les sièges de mon bateau ,excellent produit ,les vis incluses ne sont pas adaptées pour ce produit ,il serait préférable des vis qui s'encastre a l'intérieur au lieu que la tête des vis dépassent.Mais la qualité du produit est irréprochable.

These worked great with only one draw back, I wish the foam had been pre-drilled, when tightening the screw it pulled it under leaving a small gap where water could potentially get in. Otherwise super easy to install.

I bought this hatch 2 pack to install into 2 Malibu Two XL kayaks that I picked up used. Screws and a gasket were included but I added some silicone sealant during installation to make sure there are no water leaks. They were easy to install & seem to be good quality.

Great little storage option for a kayak! Just what was needed, money well spent!
