Lots of information but a bit inconsistent
I have very mixed feelings about this book. Obviously a lot of research went into it but I find it to be a bit poorly organized. The thing that throws me is some of the inconsistency-coffee and tea are listed under foods that one should 'eat primarily' and also under 'eat rarely or never'. Which is it? Also, in a past 2015 version of the recommended eating plan that was published, fish and eggs were under 'eat primarily' and now they are under 'eat in limited quantities'. Potatoes and raw nuts and seeds have also moved categories. My question is, between 2015 and 2016, how much has the evidence changed to influence the categorization of these foods, and therefore, are first two categories arbitrary?

Research online instead.
I expected more from this book. The latest research is proving that a Keto or LC HF diet is really doing wonders for Lipedema & Lymphedema sufferers. I have Lipo-Lymphedema and the Keto diet is working for me. This book recommends an entirely different way of eating, more like the standard american diet of high carbs. I completely disagree so I found the book relatively useless. FYI, I've lost 30 pounds in 3 months on Keto and a lot of it from my Lippy areas. Just saying.

Disappointing and Discouraging
I have finished reading the first 50 pages, and am very disappointed. Maybe the rest is better, but I certainly would not buy it again. There are numerous typos, mostly "the" or "an" missing in front of a noun, which is ridiculous. It is bursting with acronyms like VEGF, which is first used on page 45, but not defined until page 46. It has a lot of very technical language, which is understandable, but poorly written, awkward sentences make it very hard to follow. I haven't gotten to recipes or food lists yet, so maybe there is some valuable information that is more user-friendly. I purchased this because a family member was recently diagnosed with lipedema, and intended to pass it on after reading it. I can't give her this--not only is it frustrating and hard to follow, it contains graphic medical pictures which are very hard to look at. If a person has already been diagnosed, they need practical advice and encouragement to help them learn to deal with their situation, not disturbing pictures of what might be in store for them.

It’s a good starting point, but not an exhaustive or definitive guide
I bought this book with the expectation that it would define the best foods and way of eating to manage & improve lymphedema and lipedema. It does offer a lot of useful suggestions, but there’s still a lot of room for interpretation and personal trial-and-error to know exactly what’s best for you. I’m glad I bought it, but I am a little disappointed that some of the suggestions conflict with other research and reading I’ve done as to what’s good for you and what is not. The section I found most interesting was Ch. 2, Physiology and Food Choices, which goes into detail about how certain macronutrients (e.g. fats) are broken down and processed in the body. If you’re starting from scratch, this book might provide a nice starting point to formulate an eating plan and research some supplements. If you’ve already done a lot of research and have a well-defined way of eating to manage lymphedema and/or lipedema, it probably won’t tell you anything you didn’t already know. The main advice would benefit anyone: cut down on sugar, wheat, and simple starches. From there, two different options are presented: a plant-based diet with low-meat emphasis or a high-fat diet with low-carb emphasis. The book pushes the plant-based lifestyle but does discuss keto a few times. (If you’re a staunch keto advocate, you might disagree with some of the advice here and there). It did give me some motivation to try some new foods and do more research. Overall, if you have the time to read it you’ll probably find a few nuggets of helpful info.

I have LymphEdema from chemo and recommend this book
I'm a procrastinator, so haven't finished even half the book. But so far... Soo good! Well written, understandable, VERY informative! I wanted to highlight important info in book (for easy recall), but had to order pack of ones of diff colors from Amazon (to hi-lite diff info in diff colors). Book pgs are thick enuff that if I don't press hard on hi-liter, it won't go thru. Great!! Lots of info and lots of pages of pics in back of book (that I hope I don't progress to...).

Perfect
I have Lymphedema, so I was excited to see what this book had to say. The synopsis you had on it, was perfect. Exactly what I expected. Much information about a disease, that many aren't even aware of, so it's nice to see and read. Great resource. Thanks for the quick delivery.

Great book happy to finally have
So happy I finally got this book now that it's available. I went to a medical conference last year and then only had a few copies available so I was unable to get one. Having this disease I wish more people would write books about it as it's nice having it In write like this book lays it out for us. A lot of great tips in it!

There are a few books on Lymphedema but this is ...
There are a few books on Lymphedema but this is THE book to read on Lipedema if you have the condition. It isn't just a nutrition guide it explains all those symptoms you have struggled with, that have been misdiagnosed all your life. The RAD diet, from my personal experience, seems to be helping reduce inflamation. Early days, but I am hopeful.

Information is outstanding.
Wow ! Only had the book for a few days. Information is outstanding. Got a lot of reading to do. But so far I'm very impressed with the book. I was told my thighs was just fat by my doctor last year. But you know your own body. When I get enough information. I will be back to see my doctor when I can ( virus is not allowing me to go). To see what help i can get.

the information so far is very useful although very deep
Although I have not finished this book yet, the information so far is very useful although very deep, and perhaps a good medical knowledge is required to get the best out of this book. My wife suffers from Lipedema and is also undergoing other treatments to combat this, however I am looking to implement some of the dietary advice to best help her.
