Our 14yo lad did a great job. One thing I noticed while he was ...
On our recent vacation to Coronado island, we were concerned with which wagon to buy? What will carry everything and not get stuck in the sand? After a bit of research, we purchased this wagon. I was not excited about the $120 price tag as it seemed a bit excessive when compared to the other lower price point options. But I will say that this wagon did everything we needed it to do and more. When you hit the beach and the soft sand, it is tough to pull any wagon through that is loaded up. Our 14yo lad did a great job. One thing I noticed while he was pulling everything is that while it was tougher, the wheels continued to turn. They did not get bogged down. While at the beach, I would watch others using their wagons only to see that their smaller and skinner wheels would get stuck in the sand and stop turning. This turns a relatively straightforward exercise into literally dragging dead weight through the sand. Back to our story, our son was able to pull our wagon through the soft sand. The wagon carried our cooler (ice/drinks/sandwiches) along with 3 full sized boogie boards, all the sand tools, towels, footballs etc. I would follow behind the lad while he was pulling and I positioned the umbrella so it was sticking out the back of the wagon. This allowed me to "help" by putting my hand on the umbrella (out the back) and help give a little push while he is pulling. This was MORE than enough to lighten the load and get the wagon through the soft sand. Once you get near the water, the wagon takes minimal effort to roll to your final destination. Pulling the wagon on hard ground is a breeze. Now we read some stories on how this wagon is set up with the front wheels positioned inside the outside wheels. This CAN cause a tip over if you do not probably load up the wagon. Put all of your heavier items (cooler with ice/food) and 3 boogie boards in back and that eliminates (or significantly minimizes) the wagon's ability to tip. For the week we were in Coronado, our 14yo lad tipped the wagon once on Day 1. As he was still learning on how to drive the wagon, he learned what not to do and never again tipped the wagon over for the remaining six days. So that is a non issue for us. Truth be told, while the $120 is a stiff price to pay, this wagon is top of the line. We had a few people on the beach ask us about it as they were impressed. Once you are done using it, you grab the metal white bars in front and back and the wagon collapses down like an accordion. The wagon comes with with external sleeve that you slide over the collapsed wagon to secure it for packing in your car or at home. This really is a slick wagon once you get past the $120 price tag.

Perfect beach cart.
This cart is very sturdy and super easy to use. No tools to put together - comes fully assembled. It's also compact enough to fit in the truck with room to spare (2014 sedan pictured). It's not super light, although I was able to pick up myself. Good value.

Enjoy the beach without the Hassle- Best purchase I've made on Amazon.
This little wagon made our beach trip a totally different experience. Other people had wagons with the thin, gripped wheels and they ended up bogged down in soft sand. This wagon is made with wide, smooth wheels with two narrow front wheels that glide over even the softest sand. As much as I love the beach, walking thru soft sand is a workout, and dragging chairs, coolers, blankets, beach bags, body boards, etc can really be a hassle that is physically exhausting. Our beach trip was hassle free. The wagon is durable, easily folded, and comes w/ a cover. Some complained about the wheels not locking, but I store mine upside down (wheels up)- problem solved. It has cupholders on the side, a retractable handle for pulling, and is made exceptionally well. I researched extensively on beach carts and wagons and this was most definitely the clear winner. One of my main concerns was the ability to pull on soft sand. Other wagons and carts pulled on hard packed or wet sand, but got bogged down in thick, soft sand. This wagon just glided across the softest, deep sand on the Emerald Coast in FWB/ Destin with no problem. Anyone who has visited the area knows the soft, white sand is thick and powdery like sugar. It was no match for the BeachComber. This wagon held everything we needed all day on the beach. It saved us several trips back and forth to our 6th floor room and we were able to enjoy our day on the beach and relax without the hassle of multiple trips to our room and the physical exhaustion of dragging chairs, bags, etc. One of the best purchases I have ever made on Amazon.

Fix for the Cart
I'm adding photos of a fix for a flaw I've seen from other photos of owners of this cart, read on for explanation. We bought this cart for our beach trip, it held up well. I added this quick fix before we took the cart out after seeing many photos of a flaw in the welding of this cart at the front wheels. Other owners posted photos of the front wheel weld breaking, which caused the front turning wheels to fall off. It appeared that the weld might be a problem, so I added a brace at the front and the back, and bolted them together. Don't bolt them too tight, it will compress the tubular frame; the bracing is only intended to keep the weld from breaking when turning the wheels. Also, don't drill through the tubular frame, that will weaken the frame. The cart held up well, its wheels are real good for soft powdery sand, and work extremely well on compacted sand. I saw other families with carts using wheels that were unsuited for the sand, they did not work as well as this cart. It unfolds and folds quickly. It holds a fair amount of weight, but don't overload it. It held two beach chairs, tent, cooler, and backpack and pulled through the sand quite well, even up a small hill. Remember to place the majority of the weight at the front, the cart will tip back if not balanced properly. Another drawback of the cart is the front wheels. As said, the weld is a problem. Also, since they are close together, turning is easy but unstable if not balanced well and/or on level ground while turning. It will tip if you're not careful. Add a couple of bungy cords to help keep your contents from shifting or falling; it will help you keep the load balanced. We are glad we bought this cart, and we think you'll enjoy it too. I would recommend buying it, and then fix the flaw in the front wheel before venturing out to the beach.

one of the best wagons you can get!
If you have tried to purchase a wagon before you know how hard this can be... This one is well worth the extra money. The ease of use is outrageous and it's capacity is deceptive! It was actually about 2x larger than I expected it to be, but I am not mad about this at all! In fact I am kind of delighted because I wound up with way more beach/picnic gear than I thought (I am a take it all with you sort). This things packs up so simply, the pull cord in the middle makes the whole things loadable into a car trunk. I only just noticed the beverage sleves on the front of the unit so I can keep some beverages on this thing while in the field. VERY happy with this purchase. About the only thing that is frustrating is that when the unit is packed up flat the 4 wheels are all close together and there is no wheel lock to stop them from rolling around. I have to find a place to store it where it can lean between 2 objects to keep the wheels from rolling away (or lay it flat, but thats not practical in my small apartment. The big wheels roll nicely, however if you are not careful about weight the unit can fall over on its side in the front where the wheels are close together and not offering lateral support. It's a beach wagon, so what you loose in practical setup you get back in the easy ability to drag across sand. I do NOT recommend carrying this by the frame up/down stairs, this will probably break it. I paid full price for this unit and this is an unbiased, unsolicited review.

A beach goer's best friend! Strong and easy to pull!
With the addition of a child into our family, we needed something that would carry a lot of beach items across the sand. After researching different carts, I decided to purchase this one. I'm glad I had! I packed the cart to the brim and used bungee cord to secure everything inside. Use two straps going horizontal and hook them to the metal pieces of the side. Prior, I hadn't done this and a couple things would fall out from time to time. This was over several blocks of walking to and from the beach, however. When you're on the sand, depending on the thickness, it does real well! The larger tires help immensely. The easiest way I found to pull through thick sand is to put both hands behind your back and grab the handle. Lean forward and let your body weight help start the pulling. Once it gets rolling, you'll be good! Just remember, the heavier your cart is, the more force will be put down onto the wheels and into the sand. Try to level out the weight, front and back, as best as possible. When you fold this up, it becomes real compact; especially for its size. It'll still take up a decent amount of space in your vehicle but ultimately it's a great space saver compared to other carts where the wheels don't fold together. One thing I did not like with this cart is where the handle meets the body in the front. The connection point is too loose and it continues to fall down onto the ground. I haven't thought of a solution yet but I usually just let it rest on the ground. (That's why 4/5 stars for "easy to fold".) Other than mentioned above, you wont be sorry on this purchase! Make life easier at the beach and enjoy!

The Best Wagon!! Buy it without hesitation!
It is a lot bigger than I thought! That was a bonus. It worked amazing at the beach, pulling through the sand. Saw plenty of other people with a wagon that looked cheap with smaller wheels and they were struggling to pull on the sand BUT we didn’t! I looked at so many other ones and came across this one. Turned out perfect. I was able to fit so many things in it. It saved us so much time and trips! I will definitely be using it for other occasions. I HIGHLY recommend. You barely have to put any effort on pulling this fully loaded wagon on a hard surface. On the sand, you do have to put effort of course, but it was not terrible. TIP: I advise taking some straps to keep all products from falling. We stacked a lot of things. The only thing we struggled with was with items falling off on turns. It wasn’t too bad but we learned and will improvise next time by tying it down.

Great beach wagon!
I needed a wagon for an upcoming beach vacation with my 1 and a half year old. I did a lot of research and settled on this product. I’m so glad I did! This wagon was great, exactly what I hoped it would be. It comes completely assembled out of the box and is so easy to open and fold back down. It has enough room to haul a toddler, small cooler, beach bag, towels and beach toys. It could’ve also hauled two beach chairs but I didn’t want my toddler to feel too cramped so I just carried those. But it goes well in the sand. Not an effortless glide, like on a hard flat surface, but it goes good and the wheels don’t get stuck in the sand. Just put a little muscle into the pull. I’m 5’4, 110 lbs and I had no problems pulling it, although it does give you a workout. Very happy with this purchase!
