Melissa & Doug Dinosaurs Floor Puzzle - 48 Pieces (2 Feet x 3 Feet Assembled) - FSC Certified

Got this puzzle because my 3 year old son was really getting into the wooden Melissa and Doug puzzles that have the wooden tray they sit in (not the ones where the animals are their own shapes and sit in a place only they fit in, but the ones more like actual puzzles) and he was putting it together in no time, so we decided to try this. This one is a great next step up from those and for a pretty good price for under $10. The pieces are definitely larger, but they include a good amount of detail in each one that my kid can figure out where they go pretty much by himself with minimal help the first time, and despite receiving the puzzle last night, he's already done it twice and the second time nearly all by himself. It hits that sweet spot of not too challenging as to be a turn off, but challenging and easy enough with an interesting enough picture that he'll continue to be engaged doing this one. The quality is good - a thick heavy glossy cardboard and the pieces easily fit together if they're supposed to go together, but when they aren't supposed to go together you can't force them easily like a smaller puzzle, bringing the confusion to a minimum for the young puzzler. We went with the dino one, and I chose it because dinos, but also the color scheme was differentiated enough that it is mostly obvious which pieces go to which dinos, although it's still a little challenging as there are a variety of dinos and colors. I actually looked through a lot of dino puzzles and found this to be one of the better ones out there concerning picture and price.

Great quality! My 3 year old loves it!

I got this for a 4 year old. It was a gift from a giving tree. He said he loves dinosaurs, so I'm sure he will like this. The pieces are large enough for little hands to handle. Sturdy too!

This is a very good beginner puzzle for kids! Very good for them to figure out patterns and pictures. Sometimes, they'll get excited about it and try putting it together by themselves! Which is nice to see them wanting to figure it out. Except when you try to figure out where they put a couple of the pieces afterward...

Solid live melissa and doug puzzles

We got the dinosaur set for our 3 year old. He loves dinos and was super excited when this arrived. So here are the positives: 1. Beautiful art work. 2. Big puzzle with big pieces. Very necessary for little hands. 3. Just at the right level of complexity for a 3 to 4 year old. BONUS: Made in India Now here are some possible improvements: 1. Some of the pieces came warped (bent). It's not possible to lay them flat on the ground. A child may sometimes not realize that the piece actually fits in a particular location because the crooked piece might not settle easily in the correct spot. 2. The pieces could have been sturdier. 3. For some reason the large image on the box is a crop of the image the full puzzle forms. It's the tiny image on the box that gives the full picture (no pun intended). 4. Including a poster with all the dinos labeled would have helped parents of inquisitive kids. Overall a pretty good set. Hope your little ones enjoy this!

I brought this for my grandson because he loves dinosaurs. He loves doing puzzles and we had fun putting it together. It was fun and he loves how big the pieces were.
