For those serious about your coffee
If you are like me and you can appreciate quality and durability then you found the right coffee maker. Looking at what is available at your typical store they are all just plastic crap. Even the most expensive ones. I wanted a coffee maker that would make good coffee and was built to last. At first I looked at the cheaper non commercial Bunn units. But still while they seemed better when I came across this i knew it was the one.Construction: It is entirely made of stainless steel with the exception of the top pour cover/grate and the front switch bezel... And the funnel which is plastic but you can change that out.I took the cover off of it to see what was inside the unit and again it was a stainless steel metal tank that keeps the water hot.Looks wise. I think it looks good on the counter top. The stainless stays clean and when it needs to be wiped down it shines up real easy. If you are the kind of person who wants a statement in your kitchen you found it. The first thing that catches anyones eye is this coffee maker. Shortly followed by uttering something like "Now THAT is a coffee maker"I thought It would come in handy for making tea with its always hot water. But not really. some of the other commercial units have a pour spout on the front but since this does not you have to hold your cup up against the sprayer head and hope you did not put too much or too little water in. Logistics wise it is just easier to pop a cup of water into the microwave. It does make some noise when heating the water. You get used to it but the first couple times it sounds like its going to blow up and go shooting through the roof.As to making coffee. It does a good job. Coffee comes out hot. as soon as you are done pouring the water in, it is already coming back out and filling up the decanter. The heating element works well keeping the coffee nice and hot but since this is a commercial unit if you leave it on it will just keep heating your coffee until it all boils away to nothing unlike a typical home unit that will shut off (idiot proof)You will notice if you remove the funnel that there will be alot of water droplets on the underside of the unit where the sprayer head is from all the steam. get a paper towel and wipe it up. also be sure to remove the sprayer head and clean the metal tube with the included spring.Overall I love it. Initial investment is higher than the majority of coffee makers but what you get is well worth it. This is not something you throw out if it breaks you call up Bunn and get the part and fix it and solider on for another decade.Decanter is not included... And if you really want to get the best order the stainless steel funnel to replace the plastic one that is included.

US made to last
After researching for a coffee maker that was all metal, no plastic, & made in the US, I found this to be the only coffee maker that ticked those boxes. It is made Springfield IL, & the quality is easy to see. It is built like a tank. It is on 24/7, so you get coffee within about 2 minutes. The only “on” switch is to activate the heat plate beneath the pot. Pouring water in tank causes it to run off into your carafe, so have your grounds basket in place before adding your water. What you need to purchase in addition to this coffee maker:Coffee carafeIt comes with a plastic grounds basket which can be replaced with the BUNN stainless steel grounds basket & you will then need the basket adopter too which is about $14. The quality of the grounds basket is very good. This coffee maker is made to last. I hesitated about the price but am so glad I made the purchase. I have purchased so many coffee makers that just don’t last beyond a couple of years, & then sadly end up in the land fill. I finally realized that buying quality was the more economical thing to do.The coffee is consistently excellent. You have to make 12 cups every time, so this may be a concern to some.

A terrific NON plastic coffee maker
This is a terrific coffee maker. It makes wonderful coffee, quickly. I bought this coffee maker because I was looking for a coffee maker that did not contain plastic, and while this comes with a plastic coffee basket you can purchase a stainless basket for this machine, which I did. I’ve included the link below. I did not want to drink coffee every day with plastic leeching into the brew, so this was essential for me. This machine is built to last, it does not have auto shutoff or any fancy features, you can either get an outlet timer to auto shut if that’s what you are looking for. After reading the reviews, some people recommended getting a funnel tip for the stainless basket. ( it simply screws onto the bottom of coffee basket) I got the funnel tip, it was only about five dollars. It brews flavorful coffee each time, it is not weak it is a perfect pot of coffee. The coffee maker is on the large size, but fits under my kitchen cabinet. You fill the water from the top front of machine, so you just have to make sure this portion is not under the cabinet. Some reviews mention over flow issues, I have never had a problem once. I did buy the bunn coffee filters so of course they fit perfectly. Yes, some things must be purchased in addition to the machine, such as the coffee pot, and stainless basket if you want no plastic, but this machine seems like it will outlast any other coffee maker I’ve ever had. I know this brand, and this coffee maker is what they use in diners and they are made to last. So is it a higher price than other coffee makers yes, but when you are buying something stainless steel and made to withstand the test of time, one that doesn’t need to be replaced every couple of years and one that isn’t plastic it is well worth the initial expense and it makes a terrific cup of coffee.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A4N7OE8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KNQDBKC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006SVK1VS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004NEWA1Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s03?ie=UTF8&psc=1
