If You Find this Bitter or Have Other Concerns, READ THIS REVIEW!!!
First off, let me say that I've spent the last 15 yrs or so as a CNC (Certified Nutrition Counselor) and have far more years in holistic and integrative medicine. Does that make me an expert... not necessarily. But it does give me the confidence to tell you this... While I haven't completely sourced Horbaach products, I can tell you that they are both certified in organic products (for the products listed as such), and they are based out of the USA (NY, specifically). Additionally, they use cGMP standards in their SOP, incl. a non-GMO guarantee. Without demanding a "proof" request, lab test, or court order, that's the best most consumers can get to determine legitimacy (well, that, and to see the company's track record, and those who have chosen to sell this product; as most legitimate / reputable companies who choose to sell products like this have done more research than the average consumer ~ So, check your local, reputable health stores to see if they sell this brand and ask why they like them). Here's a few things about this product that likely make it different that other rhodiola products you've taken... (1) It says in the title that it is "super concentrated" (so that right there tells you it will be darker and thicker) (2) "Other Ingredients" list only glycerin *, water, and a single preservative (3) THIS IS AN EXTRACT, not a tincture (it's not uncommon at all for tinctures to be a lighter color, not to mention the 120+ proof alcohol taste... whereas extracts are commonly darker or thicker, especially if the plant itself produces a dark tea / fusion naturally). * I'll let you research why some herbal products use glycerin and others use alcohol. This said, instead of mixing this product with water (as you would do with a tincture, tea, or similar delivery method), try simply putting a few drops under your tongue for about 30 sec before swallowing. I bet you'll be pleasantly surprised. Given the natural flavor of rhodiola (incl teas / aka fusions), combined with the sweetness of the glycerin, it should taste very close to real maple syrup, when taken by itself (e.g. not diluting it in anything). Before writing this review, I came across one reviewer who was wary of this product because theirs "came from Alaska". In response, I would ask a person for their thoughts if they had been taking Panax Ginseng for years, then decided to try Himalayan, but got worried when they noticed differences in how it looked or tasted: While it's true that these two have minor differences in taste, the main difference lies in their benefits. So firstly... do your own research. Even though you can get the same type of plant from a different region (and it may be cheaper or taste better), there may be differences beyond just the look and taste. Be sure it is what you actually need. Additionally, there are major differences in how a plant oil /or benefit is derived, and as such, affects how it should be delivered (not to mention how it'll change the taste, smell, texture, benefit, etc.).............. Among the most common methods are; Extracts, tinctures, fusions (aka tea), EO / distilled, dried (often for pills), etc.. Rhodiola is a "cold growing" plant, meaning that if it isn't sourced from Alaska, it will have come from somewhere else cold (e.g. northern Canada, Scandinavia, Siberia, etc.)... so, just because one product choses to label its source doesn't make it exclusive or better than other products; there are a lot of variables. Again... do your research. In summary... this seems to be a good product to me (even better when one understands the extraction process, and how it will serve them best /or/ the best delivery method). It tastes absolutely amazing, and it does help with my energy levels (I have chronic insomnia, due to a pituitary anomaly)... So, by extension, it also provides minor help with sleep (because of how it helps balance my energy during the day). Best of all, it is the most cost-efficient product (for the quality) I have found to date; liquids are often more effective than pills anyway, so this suits me just fine. Hopefully this review is helpful and informative for those who have taken the time to read it (sorry for its length). Have a great week!

All natural-works for cognitive health
This is an all natural product. Upon taking daily, this product greatly increases mental cognitive function. The taste is a little sweet and tangy while it is also somewhat thick but not unpleasantly so. I do not have any stomach upset when taking this product. This may be because of the way I take it-I put a few drops under my tongue and let it sit there for about 30 seconds to absorb then I swallow and within 10 minutes after drink a glass of water, milk or coffee/tea.

Great product, Okay packaging
The actual product works very well and actually tastes good but I’ve noticed with this bottle, and the bottle for St. John Worts, each was leaky. Just sitting on my supplement tray they make rings of product

Excellent will purchase again
Excellent product. I have tried a few other brands but this one seemed to leave me the most mellow and positive without anxiety. Easy to take it in water.

Don't listen to other reviews
I have been taking Rhodiola from Hoorbach every day for the past 2 years. Not sure what other reviewers ordered but this has no alcohol and a very pleasant almost "sweet maple" flavor. The energy, clarity and mood boost I get from just 0.5mL is amazing. I can't say enough good about this amazing herb and the extraction process of the manufacturer.

Mmm…cough syrup…
It does what it’s supposed to do, but it tastes like cough syrup. Probably won’t purchase again.
