Genova Premium Lite Yellowfin Tuna in Water, Wild Caught, Solid Light, 5 oz. Can (Pack of 12)

I have been eating this tuna for years, since canned tuna packed in olive oil became more common. I have tried many brands of olive oil canned tuna. Some are outrageously expensive. Others are inferior in quality and taste. Genova is as good or better than those costing MUCH more. I find the contents to be firm, a whole section of tuna and not a jumble of flakes. Did I mention taste? Mmmm..dang! I eat it straight from the can or mix w/ mayo and pickles. My dog eats the remaining oil. Her fur is very shiny! Vet says her blood work is above average. I buy this product regularly. Healthy, tasty and the best value! I have shopped locally and on line. You won’t find a better deal, by much, if any.

Nice and pink, tasty and only three ingredients (tuna, olive oil, salt). Really the best tuna on the market, in my opinion, and at a fraction of the price in supermarkets.

Love Genova yellowfin tuna! Expiration Date April 2027. It is delicious!

Good tuna, nice taste. Shipped in a box and factory packed in shrink wrap, and yet 3 of the 8 cans were dented. Two cans were dented on the seam, and one of the cans had a deep dent on the can side. Because these were factory packed, the fault is with the manufacturer. Would have been rated 4 stars except for the careless factory packing. Amazon delivery was excellent.

I really like this tuna, it is moist and has more flavor than tuna in water. Mixes well with mayo and what ever you want to put in your tuna enjoy'.

It reminds me of the tuna I used to eat growing up in Europe.I have been buying this brand for a very long time, and not too many stores carry it.I was very happy to see that I could find it here. Now I have a subscription. I would compare it with the yellow fin tuna from Trader Joe's.

Yes, I just counted how many I have bought since 2016. This is a staple in my cupboard. I’ve been buying it for years and this is my “go to” tuna. This isn’t your moms yesteryear’s 50 cent tuna can. The quality and flavor is incomparable to the cheap stuff. This tuna made me like tuna again. It’s chunky, not mushy. Do yourself a favor, or flavor, and treat yourself to this tuna. My kids love it. They will open a can, add mayo and put the whole lot into a sandwich. I figure a beef Patty, vegan patty, chicken Patty or something like that from a store will cost about the same or more. But this is healthier. Don’t make a can of tuna spread into 4 or 5 sandwiches. Indulge!

I had canned Rio Mare olive oiled tuna for years and this was my first time ever tried Genova olive oiled tuna in a can. I have to say it tastes ok but no different than the Rio Mare. The Rio Mare is more flaky and Genova has more chunky pieces. When it comes to taste. They’re the same. Texture wise is different. Since tuna is chicken of the sea and serving it in chunky pieces makes it taste more chewy, rubbery and tough… The flaky texture tuna by Rio Mare tastes mushy but perfectly infused with olive oil. And the texture is less chewy and more flavorfulHowever if salmon is prepared flaky then it would not be good because salmon has more body fat and tasted scrumptious in one chunky piece!So in conclusion: Salmon served best in chunks of meat because it’s more tender that way than flaky meat.Tuna served best in flaky meat because it’s less chewy and more flavorful but tasted chewy in chunky meat.Upon receiving the item, there were couple of dents in my can…. I didn’t go through with every single can for inspections.Several nights ago. I made my first fried rice with it and it was exceptionally delicious. Of course I added plenty of seasoning. Pepper, salt, olive oil and Italian spices.I also made tuna sandwich. No need to add any mayonnaise. Just break it into tiny chucks with the olive oil in it. Spread it on bread with some vinegar spicy pickles.Delicious!
