Good design, poor quality control
I ordered this product after trying the toenail clipper and loving it. The fingernail clipper I received was junk in comparison due to poor quality control. There are pros and consThe clippers are well designed. They require less force to use due to the lever design and the grooves in the level allow for easier handling and less finger slippage. They come with convenient nail catchers that have a metal file embedded into them. This file is the best file I’ve ever used. It removes material like a coarse file but leaves a smooth edge like a fine file. I have no idea how this is possible, but kudos to Seki for that. Now, the bad. These clippers would be a solid 9/10 if the quality control was better. The first seki product I ordered was their toenail clipper. It worked amazingly, it would slice through nails effortlessly, leaving an smooth edge. I decided to purchase the fingernail version, and I was disappointed when I heard it crunch through my nail like a dollar store clipper, leaving a rough edge. Upon closer inspection, I noticed the blades on the fingernail clipper were misaligned to a noticeable degree compared to the toenail version. I believe this is why the blades were not slicing through as intended. Moreover, these clippers will rust even if you don’t get a lemon. This is down to the type of steel they use, which is great for holding a sharp edge but isn’t as rust resistant as stainless steel. This is just a cosmetic complaint as they seem to perform the same with or without rust, but something to be wary of if you live in a more humid climate like myself. If it bothers you, it can probably be removed with some polish.Overall, I would not recommend you buy these. They are a great product IF you manage to receive a good one. But if you invest money into these clippers there’s a random chance that you will receive a piece of junk. Given some of the other reviews on here I would say I’m not the only one. To charge that much for some nail clippers, there should be at least some minimal quality control. It’s a shame too, because these clippers are really great if you receive a decent set.Photos (left to right):-Fingernail clipper next to toenail clipper-toenail clipper blades, showing near-perfect blade alignment-fingernail clipper blades, showing misaligned blades-toenail clipper blades, showing rust-fingernail clipper blades, showing rust

Better than drugstore brands
I keep my nails short and neat. Unfortunately, clipping them is near torture because they are wide, somewhat flat and naturally strong, making it hard to get a clean cut. Although this clipper still isn't wide enough to clip my nails with one cut (which probably isn't a good idea anyway since my nail beds are also short), I can easily and quickly make two to three cuts from corner to corner on each nail without worrying about the results.Cheaper clippers are very hit and miss in terms of sharpness and usually have a sweet spot that clips just fine while the rest of the blade ends up bending, tearing or partially piercing the nail. (Eek!) When I use these Seki clippers, I never feel like they are bending the nail before cutting through. I never have to re-clip a section of nail, and the clipped nails edges are never ragged.I haven't used the file--the only thing worse than clipping my nails would be the sensation and sound of filing them--so I can't comment on that. The clipping catcher isn't particularly useful unless you're clipping at the right angle so everything falls inside, and I actually find that it compresses the clipper a bit to the point that the lever jiggles and feels loose when you flip it around for use. This does not affect the performance of the clipper however. (Sliding the clipping catcher off does take care of the jiggly lever though.) The lever is still easy to press, has the right amount of resistance and makes a satisfying click when clipping the nail.I'm glad I splurged a bit and opted for these over another pair of $3 drugstore clippers.

Sharp but not special
This is a good nail clipper and I use it over the other nail clippers I have in the same size. However, it is not sharper than my larger size nail clippers which keep my nails straighter. I do use it though.

Good sharp nail clipper
This nail clipper works pretty good. The clipper is sharp and cuts nails no problem. I like that it catches the clipped nails.

OMG! the reviews were not lying, nail clipper, where have you been my whole life?
These are GREAT! I never thought about actually buying a good nail clipper, usually just go to the nearest pharmacy to buy something, never thought about finding a good one. However, I now have found the best nail clipper ever. This thing is sharp, it cuts, and it catches your nails. I use in my office at work, doesn't leave a mess. The build quality is excellent and doesn't look like it just came off the production lot in china. The nail catchment is alright, it does its job. People have complained about the rasp that is on the plastic nail catchment and that its fairly useless, I'm a guy, and I use it only sometimes. I guess if you file your nails often, get one of those dedicated files. The nail catchment is removable if it interferes with your nail cutting. I think there would be a chance that for some it would interfere and needs to be removed, but this one is cheaper than the seki fingernail clipper without the catchment. The nail clipper looks a bit different, but I would think they cut just the same. Bottom line, I will not be buying those nail clippers from drug stores any longer, Seki Edge for life!
