Had a broken screen on my iphone & couldn't unlock it or back up via itunes because of the trust dialog. Was able to use this adapter (along with siris voiceover) to plug in a keyboard, unlock the phone, enable icloud backup, back up the phone, enable find my phone, then wipe it via icloud's find my phone (after this you can factory reset via itunes). You can't use this+keyboard to acknowledge the itunes trust dialog, wipe from the phone or disable the keycode, as they seem to pull up dialogs that require screen input. Anyway this cable worked great and was a lifesaver. UPDATE: Upgraded to the latest IOS (12.3.1) and it still works fine with my keyboard, however I tried some other keyboards and got a message on the phone about the keyboard needing too much power, so you need to make sure you have as simple as possible a keyboard, they won't all work. That probably goes for any accessory you plug into this thing - make sure it doesn't draw too much power.

I bought it for my daughter to practice the keyboard. This external power interface is very useful. She doesn't need to pay attention to whether the iPad will be powered off, and she can concentrate on practicing.

Great for my Dragonfly DAC and my Yamaha Keyboard.

Last time I used the wider iPhone adapter from Apple which also allowed me to charge at the same time. While I miss the charging mechanism this is just fine and is slimmer and not so bulky. I use this with a dragonfly usb dac. Save some money and get this it is excellent. Looks like it will take more cable bends than the Apple cable but time will tell. Built very well.

Not a lot to say. It does the thing it's supposed to for a cheap price.

The USB port is extremely narrow, it doesn’t properly fit standards USB male plugs. I had to push it hard to plug my midi cable in, and it got stuck there! Because of that, when trying to remove the midi cable, it broke the Male USB plug of the midi cable. So it damaged two products at once.A basic

Will start charging the ipad when I wiggle it in the connector. Then it would stop.Useless as far as im concerned.

I'm using this with lightroom on my iPad air to connect my portable drives and it works. I notice sometimes that I need to replug it to work properly so I'm not sure if it's an ios problem or hardware.

Just got around to using. It is a cable that got left in my shelve full of cables. Assuming it would just plug and work. that is definitely not the case, have to wiggle it around and placed on an angle for it to work. bad quality product. I'm way over my return so i can't even do that. Time to hunt for another cable that will do the job. Garbage!

This works great, it allows me to watch my TESLA Sentry videos on my iPhone. Note you do need a usb splitter for the iPhone to recognize the hard drive/stick but that is apples software.

It works as expected. However, the contacts don't seem to fit quite right and all the way in. Need to wiggle the connector a bit. Otherwise, for the price, it works okay.

the original cable the iPad cost more.it works ..i used to connect my piano to the iPad and first said the item is unknown, after to reconnected it works..

It works fine (I rarely use it). It was a hassle to insert a usb in the port. I had to really push it thinking I was gonna break it, but it didn’t and that was the only way I cold you it.

Solid product. Fast delivery. I finally can hook up my 88 note keyboard and run the excellent music software on the iPad without running out of battery power. Thank you.

Regardless of the multi number of usb sticks or micro sd cards that I plugged in none were recognized or said used too much power. Not usable.

When you plug into phone or pad it says "Cannot use accessory - USB flash drive requires to much power" ... Not sure what problem is, but it is better than the first one i bought which fell apart as soon as i tried it.... that all I can tell you.. take care..

This allows me to add a powered USB hub to my iPad so, under IOS 13, I have access to external drives.

I tried 128, 64, 32 all did not work the next smallest USB stick at 4 gigs worked and worked well. Not sure what the largest USB size between 4 and 32 gigs works.

I gave this a 1 star because it does not work on any iPad at all. I have a brand new 10"ipad and it will not work on it either.
