nothing interactive about it
Not sure why this book calls itself interactive. It's no more interactive than any other printed book. That said it is a decent value. I went through this entire book before I took the emt class and marked every page I missed with a post it (there were hundreds) after taking the class I went back through and removed the post its from pages I knew then reviewed the ones I still didn't know till I did. I think this is a pretty good way to prepare your self. Keep in mind its not really set up as flash cards. The question is on one page and the answer is on the next page. Excellent way to review at the gym while on the treadmill.

It helps to understand things better because it explains why and how
This book definitely has questions you’ll see in class and on the state test.It helps to understand things better because it explains why and how. There is at least one question for sure that is outdated so I’ll give it 4 stars.**Don’t suction more than 10 seconds! ( book says 15secs)**Over all, I love this book!

Older book, still very helpful.
The book is a little bit older. CPR has changed a little bit. And there are a few minor changes you want to make. Other than that the information has pretty much stayed the same. There are pages in back where you can add extra info to study if you want too. One of the teachers of my EMT class said he didn't know of anyone who bought the book, actually studied it, and took the NREMT who didn't pass. I bought the book, studied it and passed the NREMT. I was happy with it. It helped a lot.

OK, BUT NEEDS UPDATE
This book is a great concept - flashcards in book form - good for review anytime. However, going through the book I have found a few answers that are not up to date with current standards (the ratio of chest compressions to ventilations, for instance) and some that are just wrong (activated charcoal works by absorption? Not according to my textbook!). Still this book has great value as an adjunct to other study techniques, and has been good study aid. Just be prepared to double check any answers that don't seem right with your textbook or another resource because this book definitely has some errors.

Get this book! It will help you pass National Registry exam!
This book helped me pass the National Registry exam."FLASHCARDS in a book?," I thought. Come to find out it's a perfect way to review and memorize! This is very good if you work (can study during breaks) or study best in short sessions. The book is a compact size so you can carry it with you. The questions mirror what is on the actual EMT-Basic test. It's full of scenarios just like the National Registry test. If you will be taking the exam soon, you MUST get book! One hint for the National registry - Remember oxygen, oxygen, oxygen!

Excellent review aid
As both a Paramedic and EMT-B instructor, I have recommended this book as a study aid for the last three classes. Our course has an excellent NREMT-B exam success rate. The book has well written questions with concise answers. This is a paperback book presented in a flash card format, making it easy to find the answers on the reverse side of the page. Several students have said the questions are in a similar format to the NREMT-B exam. It is well worth the price considering the amount of time the EMT course takes.

Great book, got me through my EMT course and ...
Great book, got me through my EMT course and was all I needed for the NREMT as well. You might have to update yourself on certain guidelines if you go for this particular books as the rules are always changing surrounding practices in CPR, airways and etc.

a lot of the broad questions are good and it hits all the high points
It's okay as a general reference, a lot of the broad questions are good and it hits all the high points. However, for more detailed skills, the answer are mostly out-dated and inappropriate. Mine was dated within the last three years, but it definitely shows its age when you get to the finer points.
