This is a great little dash cam, emphasis on little because it sits neatly behind my rear view mirror so is not blocking any part of the windscreen. Video quality is excellent and the app works well for viewing the stored files on an iPhone or iPad. The unit was easy to install and represents excellent value for money.

The kit looks well styled and made, plus as discrete as possible. Very good software supplied by Nextbase to extract/edit footage.Offered at a competitive price by Amazon.Sensible default options set for camera, but I changed some:- Stopped the camera creating (duplicate) poor resolution copies of every file- Once configured, turned on the 'screensaver' to avoid distraction whilst driving- Camera can record at 60 frames per second, but 30 frames per second seems fine and halves the file size (records twice as much too)Firmware needed updating which was a surprise considering the unit has been in production for over 3 years, which would seem ample time to to iron out any 'bugs'. Although the Nextbase software will download the new firmware I could not get it to update the unit. The only way I could find to do this was to manually extract from archive and copy the update files onto the SD card and kick off the procedure from the camera itself. Cluncky.A suction mount for the camera is no longer provided. This would have been handy to test the unit in different positions before fully installing. I got around this by attaching the camera to a heavy book with elastic bands and placing it on the dashboard - not ideal. On the subject of hardwiring, there is plenty of wire on the cigarette lighter plug, so I have since used that to hardwire, using a female cigar lighter plug adapter which there is room to store under my fuse box.Now running. Looks neat and discrete and overall I'm happy with the setup.

I fitted this myself as I did not want to pay a fitter £100 to do it and probably do it badly. I watched a few video's on You Tube on how to hardwire it into the fuse box and it is fairly straight forward. I fitted the dash cam to my Nissan Qashqai J12 by running the wires under the interior lighting/mirror cluster, then under the headlining which it just pushed under, then down the 'A' pillar being careful not to set the airbag off. I used a couple of small cable ties to keep the wires away from the airbag. Then took the side panel to the dash board off and pushed the wires through down to the fuse box where I piggy backed the fuse into the 20A power socket so that the camera powers up when the cars ignition is on only. Hardest part is routing the wires but it is easy for a novice as long as you take your time and keep the excess wire tied up with cable ties and hidden out of sight behind the side dash board panel. All in all, a neat professional looking job with no wires on show at all.

Perfect for the job easy to install

I had high hopes for the Nextbase 322GW Dash Cam, but it turned out to be a complete waste of money. It worked fine for a while, but just days after the warranty expired, it started freezing about 17-20 seconds after turning on. Once it freezes, it becomes completely unresponsive, and the only way to reset it is to leave it disconnected from power for 4-5 days—completely impractical for something that’s supposed to be a reliable safety device.Now, it’s completely useless. For the price I paid, I expected much better quality and longevity. Instead, I’m left with an expensive piece of junk. If you’re considering this dash cam, I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere unless you want a product that fails right after the warranty runs out.
