Great for Waxing Bicycle Chains
I use this wax pot for waxing bicycle chains and it works perfectly. The pot is just big enough in diameter for a typical coiled chain. I really like the fine grained control of the thermostat too.

:UPDATE. 4 YEARS LATER. Perfect Hot Hide Glue Pot for Guitar Building
Update on April 22, 2023:The warmer is still as precise as day 1. It's been almost 4 years and I use it almost daily in my shop to heat hot hide glue. The optimum temperature for HHG is 145-150° F. The warmer keeps it at +/- 1.5°. Perfect! Don't hesitate to buy it. Very solid all metal construction. I've added a silicone insert to the inside.I'm a luthier; I make acoustic guitars. I use old fashioned hot hide glue to construct the guitars. A dedicated glue pot costs, conservatively, $150+. I had modified a hot water pot to hold a glass jelly jar for the glue. It finally bit the dust.I like to keep the hide glue at 145-150°F. It needs to stay hot enough to use, without overheating, which causes the proteins in the glue to denature.I decided that a hot wax warmer, with a variable thermostat and removable pot, was the perfect solution, but only if the thermostat is accurate.I use the pot daily. I take the metal pot out of the warmer and store it in a small refrigerator every night, then reheat it in the morning. The metal pot is made of aluminum, that's not very thick, but it does the job. I've removed the knob from the lid, and I've inserted my thermometer through the hole, which allows me to keep track of the temperature of the glue.I've found that the pot is a accurate to within +/- 3°F (~65°C). I opted for this pot instead of a pot with digital controls, because a rheostat (knob that you manually turn), is much more sensitive than a digital control. The "heat" light (left hand light) comes on when the pot is actively heating, and turns off when the pot is at temperature. You will see it toggling on and off as the thermostat maintains temperature, which is how it should work.I doubt that a "real" glue pot is more accurate than this pot. I also like the fact that it has a separate on/off switch, so I can keep the thermostat at my chosen temperature. It took me several hours of tweaking, to get the temperature just right.I really like this pot and I highly recommend it. I don't know much about hot wax, but if the pot can keep hot hide glue, which is very sensitive, at the perfect temperature, I'm sure it will do the same with hot wax. I will update this review if anything changes.

Simple, industrial style machine
I really like this machine since most other body wax melters are made to appeal to women, and as a man who wants to partake in waxing, it was hard to find a gender neutral machine that was simple and just works. This one is perfect, it's simple to operate, it looks professional and seems at least quite durable. Worth the money, vs buying a cheap chinsy plastic melter.

Good
Takes a long time to melt wax, but that’s how professional heat warmers are. This is a good starter warmer, but I would personally buy a dual warmer, not a single warmer like this one.The product is very good as is.

Great starter heater
Love it because the temperature doesnt fluctuate like the other ones i got. I place on 70 degrees and then move down to 50 once my wax is softened. Great for first time waxers as well!

heats hide glue for woodworking
This little unit works perfectly for heating hide glue. I can leave it on all day as long as I keep adding water to the pot. I heat water in the aluminum pot and place my glue in a glass jar inside the pot.

Great temperature control
I bought this warmer to heat hide glue which is used in woodworking. The melting temperature is critical with hide glue, and this unit worked great. I put water in the basin and use another container for the glue. In the future I may use it for melting wax.

Great. Wax pot
My last wax pot the lid melted. So I bought this one as I leave it on all the time for nose and ear waxing. When you have early clients you don’t have time for the wax to melt. The lid and everything is metal so I don’t worry about a fire. Very professional.
