A Perfect Fit for My Kalimba Journey
As a beginner kalimba player, I found the Kalimba Song Book to be an absolute lifesaver! The clear and concise four-page music reading lesson was a great starting point, and the 78-page songbook itself is incredibly user-friendly.I'm particularly fond of "Scarborough Fair," which is both fun to play and a great way to practice. And "Beautiful Brown Eyes," which always brings a smile to my face.I wholeheartedly recommend The Kalimba Song Book. It's the perfect companion for my musical journey. I'm so glad I decided to purchase it. Thank You

Easy to follow!
Glad I purchased this as I cannot read music. This book does the songs by the number keys, for example |2 or 2|. Learned Amazing Grace flawlessly within 10 minutes and this was my first time playing the kambala instrument. Keeps me interested and makes it fun and easy to learn the songs. Great for a gift, great for self use, easy for adult or kids to read. Great purchase!

Kalimba Songbook - 50 Easy Classic Songs
In my opinion, this music book for the Kalimba is a good instructional book -- mostly for children, or perhaps, elders who know "the old-time" songs of past. Most of the songs are rhymes taught to little children in school. It's a good instructional book, but the song choices are not useful to learn for many adults who want to play something modern. I got it for my 12-yo nephew to help him learn to read music and play the Kalimba. It is, however, very well printed and the setup is great. The notes are large and the material within is legible and very clear. Again, for an adult beginner or for children learning to play Kalimba, this book is a good beginner's book. It arrived by the expected date (but it took longer than some items I have ordered from China).

Well planned book
I have three Kalimba songbooks by Thomas Balinger and Lena Eckhoff, including this one. I have also purchased books by these authors as gifts for others. They are well organized and include tips on the use and care of the kalimba. They include the authors' own special kalimba tablature which makes playing by number easy for a beginner. One thing that could be improved would be including some sort of notation differenciating between numbers representing notes of the same name on different octaves. This is not too much of a problem because most of the songs in the books can be played on either a ten key or 17 key kalimba and therefore do not use the notes on the highest octaves. The only thing I would caution prospective customers about is to be sure to check the lists of songs included, as these authors do use some of the same songs in different books. I was interested in their Big Kalimba Songbook but ended up not purchasing it because every single song in this Kalimba Songbook: 50 Easy Classic Songs was also included in The Big Kalimba Songbook. I regret not purchasing The Big Kalimba Songbook first.

Perfect
This book is perfect for someone just starting out learning how to play the kalimba. It makes learning how to play fun and easy.I know a good portion of the songs in the book which helps.I received this on Feb 29 and after reading the beginning of the book, I played my first song on the same day. It was Twinkle, twinkle, little star. After I played that for awhile and had gotten used to the kalimba I tried London bridge is falling down. This book is great for beginners of all ages and I can highly recommend.👍

Odd song assortment
I actually do like this book in many ways. It’s very simple and should be easy for a child or adult to use in learning to play the kalimba, even if they have never played an instrument before. But the reason I gave it three stars is that it is for my seven-year-old grandson to go along with the kalimba I am giving him for Christmas. I am not sure what age this book is meant for because some of the songs they included are not really appropriate for a child. In some cases they put every single verse of the song which is fine except for their choice of songs like “House of the Rising Sun.” I don’t think my young grandson needs to read “the only thing a drunkard needs, is a suitcase and a trunk. The only time he is satisfied, is when he’s on a drunk!” There are several songs like that! I’m not sure what my daughter will think when she reads the words to some of them. I have a feeling she might decide to make printed copies of the more appropriate songs for his age rather than give him the whole book. It seems to me there should be a book specifically for children and another for adults. “House of the Rising Sun” and “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” don’t need to be in the same book!
