Well made, but therre is no voltage regulation.
These car charger cables appear well made. However, they were advertised as being used to charge a radio while it is in the desk charger base. There were no markings on the plug of the cable, or anywhere, so I measured the output while plugged into my car. There was no voltage regulation, the output voltage is the same as the electric system voltage. The desk charger input is supposed to be 10 V and it reduces output to 8.4 volts to charge a 7.4 volt battery.I connected the car charger to the desk charger. and the output of the desk charger was about 1.6 volts less than the electrical system voltage. In my case the car's electrical system was at 12.4 volts, w/ engine off, and the output of the desk charger base was 10.8 volts; too high for charging the 7.4 volt battery. And it would be higher with the engine running w/ the output of the alternator to the electrical system.I am choosing not to use these car chargers to charge my radio battery. I found a different charger cable that connects to a USB type of car charger (not included with the cable but commonly found) and it boosts the voltage of the USB charger from 5 volts to 10 volts. I found it at: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BDAKLSQ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=AIPBFAK9CKI8U

This is used to connect to the desktop charger
It's not obvious, but this replaces the transformer that comes with the desk charger stand. This does NOT connect directly to the radio. Once you know that, you're good though. As far as I can tell, there is not, or there is no longer, an option to charge the battery directly via an auto charger. The BaoFeng manual hints that there is, but if there is, this is not the charger to do it.Mine came with a glass fuse, which is a plus! Sometimes the cheaper auto chargers and whatnot just have a spring.

Works well, but there are some short comings.
This item is exactly as described and works perfectly; however, please beware that with this car charger you will still need the charging base your radio came with. This can be problematic as the base doesn't quite fit in the cup holder.

Not what I thought they were.... ...
Not what I thought they were.... only for plugging the charging base into a cigarette outlet. I mistakenly thought this plugged into the side of the Extended battery packs which have a DC power input port.

Looks to be a fair quality cable but haven't used it yet.
Looks to be a fair quality cable but haven't used it yet. I'm certain it will work in a pinch, which is why I purchased this item.

I like the desktop charger better, but this makes a great backup/emergency charger to leave in the truck.
