Optimally Organic Raw Marine Phytoplankton Powder Herbal Dietary Supplement with Essential Amino Acids

I was told by a friend of mine, a dog breeder, that marine phytoplankton would be a good supplement to give my dog instead of salmon oil. I wasn't sure how much freeze dried powder to give my dog since my friend gives her dogs liquid phytoplankton. My dog has no ailments except cataract in one eye but I wanted something to keep her coat & body healthy. The benefits can't quite be seen in my dog yet since it's only been about a week but my dog seems to love it!I initially contacted Optimally Organic through email and got a very quick response from Christopher, CEO. Here's what he wrote:1. Where is the product harvested from? It is from Holland and is the best in the world.2. Harvested from big glass tubes.3. Is it 100% phytoplankton? 100% pure.4. Is it open or closed cell? No such thing as open cell or closed cell with Marine Phytoplankton.5. What would be the recommended amount for dogs? Excellent for dogs! 1/2g-1g per day. Much more concentrated and higher quality than the liquid.The only thing I could suggest is perhaps having a smaller bag or a small container. You could probably fit 100g of freeze dried phytoplankton in this bag. Because it's the consistency of baby powder, I found I can't really shake it out without creating a "puff". So I use an extra long spoon, like a tea spoon, to scoop some out and tap on to my dog's kibble. I give my dog 1/2g per day since she only weighs 20lbs.

Although I like the benefit of phytoplankton, this product was too expensive for the small amount in the packaging. I wouldn't buy it again.

I like this product because it's freeze dried and undiluted. It's too expensive to only last two weeks.

I bought this for my dog, so I can't speak to the flavor...I added to water, so dog had no trouble swallowing....BUT the Packaging and Price per serving is ridiculous. Look elsewhere
