Chernobyl: The Hidden Legacy
I**.
Chernobyl exclusion zone from an artistic point of view
This book is not a firsthand account of Chernobyl disaster as-it-was-unfolding per sé, such as Chernobyl: Confessions of a Reporter or Voices from Chernobyl: The Oral History of a Nuclear Disaster , but it's equally good if all you would like to do is see how an abandoned place looks like, from an artist's perspective. If you're, however looking for something more blunt and more written material than photos, this is not for you. The book, however, contains a couple of maps and short resumes of various aspects of the disaster.

GORGEOUS PHOTOS
BEAUTIFUL BOOK! Photos are emotional and the story to go along is told very well. I learned things I didn't know and have been devouring stories of Chernobyl for 20 years.

a story that needs telling
The entire episode has been hidden carefully by those who stand to make money on nuclear power. And those who want to hoard plutonium for more bombs. The photos are beautiful and evocative. The paper and binding are first rate. The essays are by eminent people who know what they are talking about. While man's inhumanity to man is unpleasant to contemplate, in light of what is going on now, and what could happen with any reactor, this is a must read.

Interesting Pictures, with information
This book contains information along with the great photos of the existing land. I have been reading up on Chernobyl lately, and have purchased 4 books on the subject. I really enjoyed the photos in this book. If you are looking for detailed information, this may not be the book for you.

Chilling pictures
It seems that Chernobyl has fallen off the radar scope for us all. When you look at the pictures in this book you can see much of the devastation that it left behind. It also reminds me of the human devastation that is still to come.

REVISIT CHERNOBYL
It started with an old ragged VHS copy of the devestation from the Chernobyl NPP..I read books and articles, and wrote a One Act Play simply called "CHERNOBYL'. This last book CHERNOBYL The Hidden legacy by Piepaolo Mitica didn't show me the already famous photos of the crippled whats-left-of-the-power plant...I saw photos of incredible ruins of the country-side, the vacant look of the helpless victims, the hollow stare into thier nothing future of the innocent dying children. Radiation is invisible, and all I saw was the incredible stillness and emptyness of the now contaminated land. It is mind boggling.....Teri

Chenobyl aftermath
This book covers the aftermath of Chernobyl by using many pictures. It was a useful adjunct to the previous two books I have on the disaster.

Excellent
Lots of interesting photos and text. A really good book about an incident that the world has forgotten about. This book brings home the reality and horror of a situation that has impacted on millions of lives.
