ThinkPad Mini Dock Series 3 Docking Sation with USB 3.0 - 90W - 433715

This product exceeded my expectations. The bundle, although used, came in like-new condition, carefully wrapped all the components, even the lock keys. I had searched endlessly for a used deal elsewhere but nothing offered a complete package like this one. The seller is great, and cares about their customer service. I'll be leaving seller feedback after this review. For now, my docking station is up and running, and I'm typing this from my docked ThinkPad T430s. By the way, in case this is helpful for those who, like me, were scouring the web to confirm, you can use this Mini Dock 3 with a 4 K monitor so long as your graphics card can handle the max resolution. I bought a "Cable Matters" Display Port to HDMI cable to connect my dock to my new Dell monitor running at 2560 x 1440. However, I did need to go into my Intel Graphics settings and create a custom resolution profile to reach that max resolution. Since then, it's worked flawlessly. If you have a T430s like me, you'll need to set the refresh rate to 44Hz. Oh, one more thing. Seating the laptop into the dock and removing is smooth and simple, none of the issues I've heard others having with other models of docking stations. Couldn't be happier with my purchase.

My laptop had a broken on/off switch which made it impossible to turn on. For $80 new (a large price reduction due to a limited market for older Tpads), The dock had an on/off switch which allowed me to turn on the laptop (avoiding costly repairs or replacement). The doc also added a number of new attachment connections and allowed me to clean up my desktop as all wires can be run to the back side of the dock.

We have these issued out to our Lenovo T530 users at work. These work great if you are working with multiple displays and usb devices. They come with 1 key to lock your laptop to the base which is perfect for our uses. This unit has 6 usb ports, 1 display port, 1 vga port, 1 microphone port, and 1 audio port. The great thing about this unit is you can still use your audio port on Lenovo T530 along with your usb ports on laptop simultaneously.

Dock is nice but apparently the Display Port does not work. I bought two of these (office & home) and have ordered many DP to HDMI cables/adapters and nothing works. I have run every Lenovo update I can find with no luck. Unfortunately, I have no monitors or TV's that have DP. Everything has HDMI. If anyone can get this to work with this dock, please let me know and I'll change my rating.

Amazon or the seller need to fix this type of thing. The photo is wrong. I've hit a point where I'm so cautious about ordering that it takes extra time. You can't trust the pictures and in some cases you can't trust the descriptions. In this case, the text is all correct. This has a single USB 3 port, a bunch of USB 2 ports, a gigabit ethernet connecter, and finally a 3.5" microphone jack and 3.5" speaker/headphone jack. For video, it has a DVI port and an RGB/VGA type connector as well as a single DisplayPort connector. This is one of the best docks I've used (long career in IT). It has an easy but solid connection and it de-docks instantly and correctly. The laptop can be plugged in and removed from the dock without disrupting running programs. The dock works great with T431s, T430s and X230. I haven't tried it with other models. There is a power button on the dock, so if you have your laptop in and closed, you do not need to open it to turn it on. I took one star off because it only has a single USB 3 port. That's sort of silly; it should have at least two, preferably four or all six as USB 3. The included power adapter can also directly power a T430 or X230 (without using the dock), but it's physically larger than the one included with those machines. Of course, the dock will power any supported laptop once docked. I did not remove stars for the advertising/photo issue.

Ok, so you have a college student or a high school student that can't live without their laptop but wants a complete home theater experience when they are at home. This is your solution. You can tie in the HDTV, Network, power supply, keyboard, mouse and game controller and leave all of them on his/her desk. When they come home they just dock the laptop and it turns everything on. No fussing with cables that fell behind the desk or a forgotten power supply.

Works Great! I have a lenovo T530, and it is a perfect fit. All the ports work. I now have a total of 10 USB ports between the dock and the laptop itself. The docking lock works as well. The ethernet port is duplicated, so still only one port. Nice sloping typing angle (instead of flat) on the keyboard. I'm happy with this purchase. I got the refurbished, so at this price -- ecstatic, really!!

I was concerned about finding a dock that fit my old laptop. Info given in the description supplied by the manufacturer.

Was brand new, came with keys and a charging cord. I bought it because the charing port on my laptop is loose and not reliable. This solves the problem. It works perfectly, and was an easy fix for a serious problem.

Well this vendor really helped me out! We had a user who had slow mouse problem when we connected dual monitors to their laptop. Well after a few clicks on Amazon - this supplier shipped it next day, brand new and within 10-minutes the user was happy as a clam. Great value and quick shipping. Highly recommend. Slow mouse issue resolved.

All ports on the unit works. The only thing is that there are no keys and so the unit cannot be locked. The seller was contacted. Response was that keys were missing since it was a used unit. Should have identified that in the description. You can't tell by looking at the photo of the unit. The unit is good for home use, not so good if you are using it in your business office.
