Galco Dual Action Outdoorsman Holster for S&W X FR 500 4-Inch

I purchased the holster for my S&W .500. I'm an archery hunter and I purchased this holster to carry my "bear" gun. The holster fits my revolver well and is comfortable to wear. The leather is very nice and sturdy. This holster ought to last a lifetime.The only downside to this transaction was the length of time to ship. I ordered it with two day delivery so that I'd have it in time for a hunt...... Unfortunately, (two days later) instead of recieving the holster, I received a notice that it was back ordered. Too late for me to find an alternative. I buy a lot of items from Amazon and this is the only negative experience that I've had. I probably should give a poor rating for that, but the holster is exactly what I expected. I highly recommend the Galco holster to carry a 4" S&W .500.

1st: FOLLOW THE DARN DIRECTONS AND BREAK IT IN> No excuse for anybody that wrote a negative review for it not fitting. It took me 30 minutes.The holster is of high quality as to be expected from Galco. Fits perfectly and rides well on my hip. This is the one to get for your 500 magnum ;)

Ok - the S&W 500 Magnum is a very heavy revolver, even with a short barrel length. But what good is such a revolver if you stumble across an irate grizzly and the revolver is in your backpack? These are emergency weapons for a good reason. The 357 Magnum is a powerful weapon, but is unlikely to take down a grizzly with one shot.So we finally have a very well-made holster for the 500 Magnum. It holds the revolver securely, but permits a quick draw. If you are in bear country, it could save your life. Thank you, Galco, for making this holster!

I love Galco, always have - but they just keep getting better and better. This holster is beautiful quality from the stitching to the closure. The snap is crisp and the fit is perfect. I expect to get a very long life out of this product. I was really happy to find that Galco was making a holster for this gun, and really glad I didn't buy the only other one I've ever seen for it at the store. That holster was both more expensive, and much lower quality. If you need a holster for your .500, look no further than this series from Galco.

Great holster for the dough. Dual position makes toting the heft of the .50 Smith handy in different situations. More color options would give it a five star rating.

This holster is exactly what I was looking for. It is made of a very sturdy leather. It fits very tight. They recommended sliding the gun into a plastic bag and then sliding the gun back into the holster which stretches it. You can actually do two plastic bags if you prefer a looser fit. Begun fit well but after using one plastic bag the gun fit perfectly.

Recently bought my S&W 500 4in, and wanted a hip holster for it. I found a couple others that were over $200, then this galco. I own a few other galco holsters for other guns and they are all top quality holsters. This one was no exception. Perfect fit, secures the gun, and is comfortable. The leather was very stiff when I received it, and after practicing draws and working the leather in, it is forming to me nicely. 10 stars!

There aren't many options for the S&W 500 gun w/ 4" barrel so I decided on this option, particularly since I already own several Galco products and are happy w/ all of them. As usual, I needed to break in the holster for a day but after that things worked fine. I wore the gun and holster out for dinner when I was wearing a very long sweatshirt which normally hides any gun, BUT not this one. It kept poking out below the sweatshirt (and I'm 6'2" so I'm not shortie. That aside, it's a beautifully made holster and the price is more than fair.
