Product Description The Bassoon Brothers final highly regarded quartet recording covering a wide variety of music from big band, country western, operetta, Renaissance, and Baroque. If that's not enough variety there's music of PDQ Bach's Lip My Reeds, Beach Boys, and surfer music Misirlou. Johnny Cash gets a medley and the opening track uses the original orchestration of Song of the Volga Boatman (arranged for Glenn Miller by Bill Finegan). And let us not forget three tracks of Gilbert and Sullivan, one featuring the tenoroon and another the sopranoon, the bassoon's baby brothers/sisters. Review "If you enjoyed the tom-foolery and the fun and games of the previous Bassoon Brothers CDs...then you will be thrilled with the latest and craziest edition...this has to be my favorite. The combination of crazy and the sublime is, to me, a perfect personification of the crazy and sublime world of the bassoonist." --Ron Klimko, International Double Reed Society, Bassoon Recording Reviews, Vol. 31 No. 2.

Beautiful sound and lots of fun
I just started playing bassoon again after a 24-year break to raise my family. I found the Bassoon Brothers CDs and I love them! I love the sound of the basson, and especially the contrabassoon so just on a sound/timbre/texture level this is a deluxe experience. The songs themselves are arranged very well and I love the eclectic mix of all genres and time periods. And of course the playfullness is delightful. Highly recommended for anyone who likes bassoons, fun, and a mix of genres.

Joy with Bassoons!
I bought this CD as a Christmas present for my good friend who played bassoon in her high school band. We both love it - lots of fun to listen to and it has a nice variety of music. Makes a unique gift for music lovers, especially ex bassoon players!

Great
Bought this for my 12yr old nephew who is learning to play the bassoon. This CD has made him even more interested in playing the instrument because the music is pretty cool/fun.

Bassoon Yes!
I loved this album, as I have the previous Bassoon Brothers albums. What can I say? Obviously I am a bassoon junkie.

Original, funny...more of the same
It's pretty simple, if you liked their last 2 CDs you will like this one. The Johnny Cash is an especially nice touch.
