Typical Calphalon...excellent!
I have the complete premier collection, but I noticed that the pans are all shallow. I prefer deeper pans for boiling pasta, making sauces, and so on. I looked around for something deeper in the collection and came across this pan. It must be a late addition to the collection. Anyway, I bought it and I've come to really appreciate it. It's definitely deep and it comes with a strainer lid. If you don't know what that is, there is a permanently attached band of metal (an inch and a half or so tall) below the glass disk of the lid that's perforated on two sides. You can rotate the lid so that the perforations align with the pour spouts in the pan and then simply pour out the liquid while retaining the food inside the pan without removing the lid. That means you don't need a collandar. You'll never get a good seal due to the pour spouts leaving a little gap between the lid and the pan when you don't use the perforated sections of the lid, but I still steam vegetables with it without any problems. Like the other Calphalon pots and pans I now own, this pan is very sturdy, distributes heat very well, and is surprisingly easy to clean. I highly recommend it.

LOVE it!!
Initially, the item I received came in a torn up box and the lid of the pot was severely dented. The box also had two spots on it that showed a previous shipping label as well as what I’m assuming was the return label. I’m unsure why I received a retuned pot.I submitted a return form and the seller immediately put a new one in the mail that very day and I received the new one before I was able to return the damaged one! I’m very impressed with the quality and the quickness that I received both pots. Would definitely recommend!! For size reference, I think this pot is a great size for cooking sides, pasta, and soups. Would not be big enough for spaghetti noodles.

One of the best pots I've ever had
I use this thing every day and sometimes twice a day. It's handles oatmeal, sauces, boiling. It's got a nice flat bottom and the handle distributes heat very well. Occasionally if I've had something really tough to clean on it I've used Bar Keeper's Friend but usually soap works just fine for cleaning. Another good experience with Calphalon.

Great size and tri-ply all over.
I love this pot. It's 5 quart so good for small familie. I use it very often and what I like best is that it is tri-ply all around. It is nice and heavy and has thick sides. Some reviewers mentioned water spots on first use, they will vanish with barkeepers friend. No need for vinegar or other lengthy procedures. The handles and cover does get hot so be careful.*if this was helpful please tap Yes. Thank you!*

It's what I needed
I’ve been wanting a sauce pan, larger than 3 quarts, for a few years but, since I only had use for one, of that size, 1~3 times, per year, I had been putting it off and using one of my smaller (6 quart) stock pots, to fill that gap. This pan is the perfect size for my needs, not just in volume but in shape. The fact that it’s much taller than it is wide causes it to take up less surface space, on my stove top, allowing me to use more of my wider (10~14 inch) pans, at the same time, on adjacent burners, while using this pan. That shape also uses less shelf space, while in storage. That large helper handle is a mandate, while trying to drain or pour from a pan of this volume. Since it’s a heavy-bottomed and thick sided pan, it heats well and evenly, which is what I needed. Quality stainless is easy to clean, even though I never put any cooking vessels in a dishwasher, regardless of any manufacturer’s statement about that option.

Pretty good pan
Most of the negative reviews are for eggs sticking. Yeah, they stick a little. It's not that bad though. Just keep them moving. I've used the pan twice so far and it's worked out good. As for the cleaning, it was not that bad. Let the pan cool down before adding water. Soak it for a bit in soapy water. After the first time i cleaned it, there was this sort of haze on the pan. I soaked in in vinegar for a little bit and it cam perfectly clean. I will be buying more All-Clad pans. Buy this pan.

Just what I was looking for.
Pour and strain pans are hard to come by in stores. I had a similar pan in non stick but I wore that pan out and had to throw it away. Happy to have finally found one in stainless steel. Arrived on time and in perfect shape.

Cooks well, easy to clean
It cooks well, and is fairly easy to clean. A minor negative: i suspend my pans from ceiling hooks. This pan's handle has a smaller hole than my other pans, making it difficult to get on and off the hook.

Good quality pot, beautifully detailed and designed
I love it Although the price is bit too high but the quality and design worth it all. Highly recommended if you are looking for a pot for daily use the size 1.5qt is good for 1-2 pack of instant noodle

save your money
the lids on all their stainless line are a joke. no seal between glass and ring. no valve on the glass. spits everywhere. careful fast pouring into the pot, the sloped sides will shoot the pour out the sides. pitting on the inside under normal conditions. i've tried using this stuff for a while. had enough.

Small chip on the edge
Nice pan. But there’s a small chip on the edge.
