Go with seed if you want that dark green up it won't fail. I've been overseeding with this seed for about 2 years now and have the darkest grass.

This was my first lawn Reno and the only experience I have with grass seed is the brands sold at the big box stores like Lowe’s and Home Depot. Half the time, I could never get the seed to germinate completely, requiring many overseeds. This seed germinated in 4 days. 2 weeks later and I had a dark green yard full of perennial ryegrass. I did the first mow 2.5 weeks after seeding, which is represented by the picture in this review. The grass was nearly 3-4 inches tall prior to mowing. There are a few areas that need repair due to rain washing the seeds while I was away, and a friend driving through the lawn. I do have sprinklers set up so I was able to keep everything moist which definitely helped the process. Overall, I am very happy with the seed and I’m looking forward to see how thick I can get the lawn. 5/5 on this one.

The best part of the Fireball grass is dark color and its fine texture. Not the most aggressive grass. I use Fireball seeds to mix with my other grasses that compose my lawn. My lawn is like carpet very soft. Like Emerald Lagasse would say, "bam" that what Fireball add to my lawn.

Hi quality seed !

Used for front yardoverseeding. Grrrrr tons of grass like weeds growing out of my front lawn. Gave it the benefit of the doubt.Three weeks later did a total renovation of a thousand square feet in the back of my yard. We removed all old grass put 2 inches of good topsoil. The same grass like weed grew out of topsoil. I would say about 10% coverage. Many seeds did not germinate. At the same time use the leftover seeds to overseed my the rest of my backyard. Low and behold now my backyard is full of same weeds as the front yard. It is definitely the bag of seeds I bought from them. Pulled out a 32 gallon trash can worth of this grass like weed I don't know what it is. Luckily it pulls out pretty easy with the root. That is just the front yard. My backyard is a mess. I don't write a lot of reviews but wish I never planted their seeds. I could understand a few weed seeds but this is too much.

Lawn

I overseeded Bermuda grass with the product last fall. The seeds germinated quickly and the grass was beautiful until late spring when the Bermuda returned to life. I just ordered more.

Warning to buyer! This rye grass has 41% inert matter and is coated with lime! This means only about 1/2 of this bag is seed that will grow! You can buy better quality seed with as little as 1-2% inert matter from a good seed company.
