Lovely color and texture. Soft and easy to use.

I've used these pigments before so I knew these would be great, but this set has far surpassed my expectations. They are all transparent, obviously, and I love to work in layers and with transparent color, also using Mussini oil paints. They may be transparent, but they are ultra concentrated and go a long way, and you are not sacrificing brilliant color for transparency. Amazing projects for any warrior artist, not afraid of powerful colors. Also, they all go so well together. The price here is cheaper than anywhere else I've found. I am so glad I tried this set.

If you can't tell, I love these. They've helped transform my art and added a dimension I was missing. They truly are translucent and add subtle layers to your artwork. Need them more translucent? Add some R&F blending stick. I've been using these much more deliberately in my encaustic art and love them. And, with R&F, always high quality.

New to oil painting but these sticks are incredible. Use hands, palette knives, or brush. Either way you get great color and convenience. Amazon has the best prices on these sets and I will be purchasing another color set very soon.

I used these pigment sticks with encaustic medium. They are creamy, concentrated and a dream to work wth.

As an recent convert to encaustic painting, these oil sticks offer an incredible and easy way to sketch color onto a work. I have also worked using a pallatte knife. Colors are wonderfully saturated, the opaques are rich, the translucent colors are rich and vibrant. I have also used these oil sticks in some of my multi media work. They create an interesting spread when used on transfer paper (which I transfer on to paper, and cannot vouch as to how they work on fabric or other media). I bought the two sets Opaque and Translucent simply to test them. I'm hooked. I will continue to buy the colors I work with.

ok, I did not give this a 5 star only since I only tried them one time, still getting use to using paint sticks and really not sure how to use these transparent sticks..

Did this painting in the Pennsylvania mountains last fall.That orange is sensational.Back to the greatness of viridian.Indian yellow, Egyptian violet, an absolute must.Kid sis saw it, kept marveling at each color, one by one.
