Excellent quality coffee bean roaster
Excellent quality coffee bean roaster. Works exactly as described. Easy to operate and beans are roasted quickly and evenly. You can roast to any level you want from light roast to dark roast espresso.

Good Roaster
For the home brewer of coffee, this product is well suited, and can provide an excellent roast. The only issue I have had is the lack of instructions on how to roast to light, medium, and dark roast levels. But I’m still playing around with it. All in all, this is a great product.

Damn, I'm in love with this roaster...
I must say that I am very pleased with this roaster. I've roasted 3 batches of beans and the appliance is idiot-proof. No, I do not like that it has "China" marked on it, but everything comes from China nowdays. I bought the 3 year warranty insurance. This appliance does go up to a heating setting of 9. In that I have never done coffee roasting, I have used it at 6 and 7. And, the instructions say use a maximum of 4 scoops of green beans, I'm just using 2. The roaster does a very good job of catching the chaff in the upper basket. After just 3 batches, I am DONE with roasted, packaged coffee, this baby gives you superior taste from green beans. You will notice a significant increase in the taste and intensity of your brew, so a definite WOW factor. The price, well, I saw roasters as low as $75 on Amazon and after looking at the 2 choices at $150-ish, I went with this brand and I am satisfied, fully, with the purchase. The roaster is solidly built, it cranks out a lot heated air. I mentioned that I use 2 scoops and don't plan on using the maximum of 4 scoops, the reason is that I think the fan, set at the maximum, 9, handles 2 scoops perfectly, very even roasting. You will notice a difference in the roasting time between 6 and 7, my opinion is 6 is the best setting for heating. The cooling cycle works well, but you do want to wait for a few minutes before taking off the top of the roaster, the chaff lid, unless you use oven glove or a cloth, again, the roaster cranks out a lot of heat...

Great little roaster; wish it was digital and programmable.
We decided to try roasting our own coffee beans and bought this item in late 2021. It has produced several hundred batches since then with terrific results. My wife and I drink each drink one double shot latte each morning, so about two scoops per day. I'll make two roasted batches at a time (waiting an hour between roasts for it cool off per the manufacturer's instructions) and that will last us about 6 days. I was having fun with the unit, manually adjusting the fan speed - high at first to circulate the dense green beans, then gradually lower as the roasting beans get lighter - and the heat - fairly high at first to get it up over 430F as recommended by the manual and internet recommendations, then adjusting downward as the beans heated up to keep the temp around 450-460F through the first and second cracks (look it up, it's a very interesting aspect of roasting), about 14-16 minutes total depending on the ambient air temp (I do it in my garage - roasting coffee beans produce a bit of smoke that has a surprisingly less-than-pleasant smell). This produced basically flawless, consistent espresso roast beans with the chaff collected in the top unit. There are two reasons I don't give this product five stars. First, the analog knob that adjusts the fan-heat-time settings eventually became a bit wonky, not changing the digits correctly or predictably (going up when turning down, etc). I basically wore it out adjusting it constantly. As a result I had to leave it at a static setting for fan, heat and time as I screwed up a couple of batches by not being able to adjust the dial correctly while roasting. It still produces very good beans but roasted better batches when I could adjust it reliably on the fly. Also, while manually adjusting settings during the roasting process was fun, it would be an even better product if the control system was fully digital and programmable - it would be nice to set the fan and heat to change automatically over the course of the roasting process according to conditions and individual preference - and it would get rid of the wonky setting-adjustment knob. I should note that I contacted the manufacturer (made in the USA) to ask about fixing the analog knob and they kindly sent me a complete new motherboard at no charge long after the warranty expired. Great company and a good product that produces terrific fresh-roasted beans. I would actually give it about a 4.7 if the rating system allowed. Recommended.

Perfect roast, size, and functionality.
Functions perfectly. I have toasted twice so far and achieved pure perfection. The coffee smells great and tastes great! Minimal noise level and the heat level performs nicely. This machine is a great value for the money, adding that it is the perfect size for my kitchen.

Great roaster and lots of fun to roast your own coffee.
I started roasting coffee about 25 years ago and have tried quite a few roasters. My old fresh roast, which is one of the originals, finally quit on me after about 20 years of constant use. That was a pretty good run. This newer one has a wider capacity glass chamber that allows for better air movement and a more even roast. I will roast a few times and blend the beans (some darker, some lighter). It's extremely easy to roast your own coffee, and green beans are less expensive and stay longer in the pantry (years, actually). A pound of green beans costs less than one latte at the coffee shop. For comparison, I have tried different roasters over the years, but I always go back to the Fresh Roast because it's just easy to use. I have an outdoor plug and roast on the porch outside because they do let off some smoke, I would not use this inside without proper ventilation, but that's par for the course with any roaster.

Takes way too long to raost coffee beans.
I have been roasting m own coffee for over 25 years. Started with a air popcorn popper and when the started making the popcorn poppers that burned out quickly, I switched to Fresh Roast SR500. It has served me well for over 10 years. after difficult in getting replacement chafe catchers and roasting chambers and finally decided to u a new roaster. The SR540. It is terrible. I could roast a batch of coffee in my SR500 in 6-8 minutes, depending on outside temperature. this brand new SR540 take 16 minutes to do the same thing. Totally unacceptable and over 20 minutes to do dark roast.

I'm loving using this roaster. Still playing around to get perfect flavour I want, but everything that it has done so far has tasted great. Does small batches, but doesn't take up too much counter space. I roast under my range hood vent to keep the smoke detectors from going off. I'd recommend this to a friend who loves good coffee.

This is nice. I would like it if the roaster came with a few more instructions and tips of how to roast coffee. But once you’ve figured it out it roasts a nice batch.

I was very excited about this product. I think overall it is designed well and easy to use. I needed to watch a YouTube tutorial because the instructions are terrible. However, my problem with it is that it does not have nigh enough temperature for a dark bold roast. It does a good job for light to medium roast. Even at 16 minutes on high heat and fan, it does not produce the results I desire.

They reply fast, prompt delivery and they're courteous. The product itself is absolutely amazing! It's made by an external supplier, KitchenBoutique is the reseller. The problem I had was with KitchenBoutique. I had an issue with my product. I believe it was a manufacturing defect. I wrote to KitchenBoutique to get an exchange and they told me they would look into it and contact the supplier. Then it became radio silence, nothing. I contacted the supplier myself and got a response within 24hours and I managed to solve my issue directly with them. What gives!? TLDR; The Machine : Absolutely awesome! The Reseller : Meh

This thing is really smoky. Make sure you have a good hood fan. It also draws a lot of power so make sure your electrical is robust. Other than that, it’s great. The coffee is delicious.
