9" Personal Comfort A3 Bed vs Sleep Number Bed c3 - Queen

I’m so excited, all the pieces are here. It shipped reasonably quickly. Sad about off gassing, the smell is way too strong for me to try sleeping on it yet. Letting it air out for a day or a few days. I think the air chambers are the culprit. The foam has a bit of smell too.Be aware the A3 doesn’t come with their wrapped rail system, I didn’t realize that when I ordered it. That’s only available on A4 models and up. I called customer service to see about upgrading mine.The Personal Comfort website has a ton of delightfully snarky videos from how it’s built, showing why it’s better and more affordable than sleep number, how sleep number sued them and they even drive over an air chamber to prove how much more durable it is compared to sleep number. Called customer service they were very nice and helpful. Amazon purchases DO include the 120 night sleep trial, 25 year graduated warranty (as in how much they’ll replace reduces overtime but hey I’ll take it.) My aunt bought one 3 years ago and still loves hers. They have a referral program too.I’ll update with more later down the road.Slept on it last night, back pain is already SOOO much better. Assembly went pretty well. The zipper on the mattress cover is much more industrial and easier to use than sleep numbers in assembly.I can roll over on this mattress and the layers all stay in place. If you roll over on a sleep number the layers slide around, bunch up and feels super cheap. So happy to have a better quality for less money!!During assembly the pump wouldn’t initially inflate one side, the troubleshooting page on their website helped and I was able to get it working. They also have a helpful ideal setting page based on the model, your height and weight, using that I loved how comfortable the mattress is. If this becomes available again buy it!1 month in, this bed is amazing. At a softer setting I do roll toward the middle a bit. If you like a soft or plush mattress and can only afford their A3 just invest in some mattress toppers.I actually put this bed on TOP of a cheap 4 inch thin linenspa memory foam mattress on a platform bed and it's sooo much better. Worth the investment if you get everything else you need too. For me a needed a new bed frame completely!

First couple of weeks I wasn't so sure about this bed. While I was getting okay sleep, it wasn't truly great. Then I hit my perfect number (40) and everything changed. No longer was I tossing and turning like I did before with my old mattress and my lower back pain slowly dissipated. I can honestly say that this is one of the best beds I've slept on. Anyway, the reason I went with Personal Comfort over Sleep Number was that fact that it was nearly half the price as the comparable model and I could easily order from Amazon rather than at the Sleep Number store with pushy sales people. For those looking for a Sleep Number type bed at a more friendly price, I would strongly recommend going with Personal Comfort.

When I ordered the item I thought I was buying something comparable to a sleep number bed. Since my husband is disabled and has several medical conditions, his doctor recommended that we purchase a bed where he could raise or lower the head and foot. Sleep number beds have this option; however, this bed had a non adjustable frame so we could not raise or lower either the head or foot. It was in no way comparable to the sleep number bed. I feel the description shown does not explain that this is not an actual adjustable bed. It gets very confusing when the description says it has 40 different settings. According to the company, that only means the firmness of the mattress. Also with our weight, and it being just an air bed, we do not feel it would have lasted very long. Would not recommend anyone buying this bed, or dealing with this company. It was a nightmare.

I needed a new mattress and had already tried the temperpedic foam mattresses - hated them. Way too firm for me and woke up with a back ache every day. So I wanted to try a sleep number bed but the price was a bit much for their base model. I got a better mattress and saved over a hundred dollars but going with the Personal Comfort. Set up was easy and I totally love it. Warranty is better than the sleep number product as well. I'm enjoying great nights of sleep on my new mattress - it's excellent.

Backaches are just as bad as with our previous mattress. Slides around on the metal base. Will be replacing with a traditional quality bed soon.**Update Dec 31st. 2015. Today is the day! I have decided I can't take this bed another night. If you can imagine plopping down on a pool raft when the pool is frozen, then you have experienced the Sleep Comfort A3 bed experience. To be totally honest, our sleeper sofa is more comfortable. Yes, we have a nice sleeper sofa, but still, it isn't intended as a primary bed. Worst bed I have ever slept on hands down. I wouldn't recommend this bed to my worst enemy.**

We loved our bed for the first 3 years. This bed was sold with the full 25 year warranty. After three years one of the air chambers has developed a leak. After finally responding to our inquiry we were told that we have to go through the actual manufacturer of the air chamber itself. I'm not sure why we are getting passed off to a third party, but that is NOT the way the warranty info reads on their website.

I liked the price however you get what you pay for. The control unit started leaking within a year. Now after checking both mattresses for leaks, none to be found. I assume its the control unit has a leaking valve. So now one side leaks down within a couple hours. Not so great for sleep when trying to sleep with a bad back

bought for my mother after she fell in love my sleep number king, it is a great bed at a great price. Had a slight issue as they sent one wrong part, but I made the wrong piece work and I called them and they sent the correct piece right away, AND sent one of their high $$$ queen sheet sets as a gift form my inconvenience.So my total experience with Sleep Number in buying two mattresses from them is 100% positive.
