8th Grade Homeschool Review:As a parent and homeschool educator, I've been using a set of books for 8th-grade homeschooling, and I'd like to share my thoughts. These books have proven to be a valuable resource in our homeschool journey. They provide a solid foundation for various subjects, covering a wide range of topics essential for 8th-grade students. What I appreciate most about these books is their comprehensive approach. They offer a well-structured curriculum that allows students to delve into subjects such as mathematics, science, literature, and history. The content is clear, and the exercises and activities help reinforce the learning process. However, it's worth noting that while these books are fantastic as guides, they might not provide all the answers. As with any educational materials, there may be moments when students need additional support or clarification. In such cases, we've found supplemental videos and other educational resources to be incredibly helpful. The combination of these books and supplementary materials has been the key to a well-rounded education.Subnote:This review is intended to serve as a general overview for all the books I'm currently using for 8th-grade homeschooling. If any of the books stand out, either for their exceptional quality or shortcomings, I will provide a more detailed review for that specific book. It's all about ensuring that our homeschooling experience is as enriching as possible.

Great practice workbook
This workbook is excellent for learning and practicing algebraic concepts. I’ve noticed a drastic improvement in my child’s math fluency and confidence in mastering the practice problems in this workbook.

Great book
I like this book. I used it to help prepare my now 7th grader for pre algebra and to help prevent summer slide. The book could do better with examples for children who don't have parents who remember algebra. I liked the variety of problems and that they included word problems, which can be daunting for some students.

annoy, or get in the way of learning and ...
These books have been very helpful for my self-directed learning near obsession habit. I have missed a lot of educational opportunities due to physical health. So I made up for it by self-directed learning at home for the past few years. I wish I had realized the usefulness much earlier! While they are Common Core(meh) they don't shove it down your throat! Which is very important. As a self-directed learner I don't need to care about such standards also as relax home school fan the standard will not impede, annoy, or get in the way of learning and adopting new skills.Definitely recommend if your a relaxed homeschooler (un too) that does not want a full curriculum just a simple instruction. There is a LOT of math, new math, and new methods to doing a problem now (not a bad thing entirely) that's math learning the different ways to think! This is a good way to reinforce a conversation in math so that the written portion does not go unnoticed my biggest regret in self-directed was not to use these books for quick reviews for myself. Regardless of your age, the age of the books, you'll be able to do the work after, or should.I have learned money (which I've always had a fun time with), and saw how unready I was for A2. (Academically I am Sophomore in college except in Math! At least the way math is presented now). So this comes from someone with college experience. Not sure if that's helpful, or not, but anything to help people by these books and use them in their self-directed learning regardless of age. They're good books.

A Good Supplement
Spectrum is an incredible resource. As a former teacher, I used many spectrum resources in my classroom. Now that I am home with my children and help them as they complete their work for their online school, I use Spectrum books when they need a little extra help. I don't have time to look for free online resources. These books are a reliable resource for students. I feel that content is just right and explanations are perfect. This is not to be used as a comprehensive curriculum, but rather as a curriculum support.

Excellent book for Algebra beginners
I like my kids to do some work over the summer. I like to keep their study habits up and hopefully not have the "summer slide" that many students do between school years. I also like to push them a bit and have them work ahead. I figure if they have some exposure to the material before the next school year it may just make things easier on them. This book a nice book for beginning Algebra. There are some examples before a lesson on how to work the problems that follow. Answers are also provided in the back of the book, but only answers. It does not show HOW to work the problems. Which is not a problem for me, as I do have a math background and I am able to explain to my child how the problem is solved. However, it may be a problem for some who do not have a strong math background.

Quality is not good
Showing as the picture, the book is kind of torn with irregular binding. Does not like new book.

nice work book
Has some good info that would complement a math program for additional instruction/exercises.
