Love it is a sad thing to say
Love it is a sad thing to say. It is VERY informative about the culture in the South at the time of slavery from multiple view points. Actual testimonies of people during that time make it riveting, so it is not a shallow one dimensional body of work.

Unimagineable suffering!
Hard to imagine the inhumane treatment slaves received from other human beings.

Not exactly what I expected
The first story was a harrowing tale of slavery and escape which I found quite engaging. From this point forward the stories are very good but not in the same league as the first.
