Though Amazon says it wouldn't be a fit for this make and model, there were no alternative door check straps that would fit (again according to Amazon), so we took a chance on this one and it paid off. No modification needed, doesn't interfere with the window glass. Easy to install, just 3x 10mm bolts once you get the door panel out of the way. Great price.

Works great on all four doors. Perfect for saving money on a much needed repair. This is a near perfect match for the front left and right doors. It is also a good enough replacement part for the rear left and right. I could not find a more cost effective way to hold my doors open in both full and half positions. The rear is about an 1/8in shorter than the OEM part. I could see it mattering if I am trying to force a very large box in the back seats through the door. I can live with the 1in less travel on door because I load through the rear hatch nearly all the time on this car. Totally worth the price of about half of one OEM door check to fix all four doors. Install takes about 10min per door. Recommend watching a YouTube video to remove the door panel. Plastic clips can break on a car this age. Remove three 10mm hex head bolt and reuse the bolts for the new part.

The first image attached is the view after the door check was installed facing down into the door from the top. You can see how the metal touches the window glass. This only occurs for the first 2-4 inches once you open the door or just before you close it. This WILL damage your glass and eventually break it. The solution was to use a dremel and cutting disk to remove material on one side to prevent the metal on glass, while keeping the other side intact to prevent the door from opening to much. The second image is after I trimmed the door check with a dremel and then a bit of filing to smooth any burs. No metal on glass contact and still works for a significant amount less than the OEM. It will take you 10-15 minutes of work to modify this. So 4 stars since it works well but you need to modify this. DIYers will be fine, if you aren't good with tools go buy the OEM one for 5x the price.

I bought this for my Toyota Matrix 08' but it did not last! When I first had it installed, I was so glad it was a fairly easy DIY and it worked GREAT.. That is until about two months later, it broke off. IDK how. It. Just. Snapped. So I placed in another order. Glad I got it fixed for the second time but guess what? It broke again after several months! All I did was open my car door and it snapped apart. I decided not to repurchase this product and live with a loose door. Please also note; While this product was "temporarily" attached to my car, I did have issues with rolling my window all the way down. I noticed another customer had said the same issue.

I installed this on the front driver's side door of my 2004 Pontiac Vibe (a Toyota Matrix clone.) This door check installs easy and looks like a direct replacement. However, the door check interferes with the window operation (e.g. it collides with the window when it's down and prevents the window from fully going down when the door is closed.) I am fortunate in that it did not break my window, but it did scratch it up some. In addition to the window interference issue, the plastic casing shows excessive damage and wear after ~1 month of use. I would not recommend this product for purchase or use. This product has the potential to damage or break the door window due to the interference/collision issue described above.

Purchased for my sons 03 Toyota matrix because his drivers door would swing open with no detent positions. I wanted to buy this to prevent an awkward interaction for him in a parking lot because his door hit another car. The part installed easily and did not interfere with the window like some of the comments said (I tested the window while the door panel was still off) He's 17 and I let him do most of the work to learn and it took us about 30 min. The part is so far so good.

It says that it fits for my model but I had to customize it to be able to use it properly.

Used this on a Scion xD 2011. Good fit.

Read other reviews ever it makes contact with the windows once lowered - seems it doesn't affect every matrix. But made a slight adjustment to the hardware to be safe and not sorry later. For the inner portion, you would need to zip down on one of the corners before installation. A simple angle cutter, and you'll be set. Would definitely recommend for the pricing and ease of installation.
