Great upgrade
Good quality. Keeps the trans cool while towing up hills. I receive a damaged one at first but it was replaced with no questions or difficulties. Good customer service. Also looks great compared to the OEM cooler.

Dropped trans temp.
Easy to install. All necessary parts are in the kit. Instructions easy to follow. Price was right. Dropped trans temp from 210 degree to 145 with an 8ft in bed camper on the truck. Would say that is a pretty good drop in temp.

Tru-Cool knockoff, not real
Received in an unmarked box. Made in china on the box. I received a knockoff product. Will be returning.

... modification needed to install and the cooler performs absolutely wonderful! Installed it on a 2007 Chevy Suburban 5
Very little modification needed to install and the cooler performs absolutely wonderful! Installed it on a 2007 Chevy Suburban 5.3L - prior to the installation the vehicle would run upwards of 200 plus degrees while pulling a 26ft travel trailer in warmer weather (85 degrees and up) and now pulling an even larger travel trailer (Whitehawk 30dsqb) in warmer weather it doesn't pass 185 degrees! Awesome product and well built! I did spray paint it black so it would blend in better with the front end through the grill... Other little trick was determining the direction of fluid flow to even hook the unit up. In summary, I highly recommend this product.

Best transmission cooler upgrade you can do besides a trans ...
Best transmission cooler upgrade you can do besides a trans temp gauge. Went on my 03 silverado I have a 2800 stall in it and b4 I got this pulling my 30 ft camper I seen a high temp of 240 which can toast a tranny quick at that temp.and now pulling it it will NOT go above 175 on a 95f day. I didn't use the thermostat thing as cooler already has a valve in it to let cold fluid pass thru. Gonna need at least 2 qts of atf to compensate for the bigger cooler got more fluid goin thru so if it feels sluggish check n add fluid

A must for towing.
This so much bigger than the original trans cooler. I had to return mine since it came damaged but I will be ordering a replacement.

NO BYPASS - Remco does not stock 4739 - Remco will ship you 47391
When I made my purchase it was fulfilled by Remco Transmission out of Texas. The description read: "Tru-Cool Max LPD4739 4739 40,000 GVW Low Pressure Drop Transmission Oil Cooler with Thermal Bypass." Tru-Cool uses two part number for the same cooler. Part number 4739 is with a thermal bypass and is more expensive. Part number 47391 is WITHOUT the bypass which is cheaper. When I received the cooler there was no part number on the box. There was no thermal bypass in the box when I opened it. When I contacted Remco through Amazon, Remco told me that the picture does not show a bypass and they do not stock the cooler with a bypass (despite the description). Remco offered me $25 off or the option to return the cooler. The bypass is about $60 available separately, so I returned it.If need a cooler with a bypass order elsewhere. If you want a cooler without a bypass order elsewhere, because you can find it cheaper than Remco. Remco is selling you the more expensive description but shipping the cheaper part. At best Remco is incompetent, at worst this is out right fraud.
