First it will fit any smartphone but you have to remove your phone case first, it will not work with it. I found it hard to adjust just right, it kept slipping. I finally got it lined up and it did take a close up picture. The first picture I attached of the blue moon is with the monocular, the second is without it and my smartphone extended all the way.

I bought this item so my family could enjoy watching some of the birds and animals that have moved into our quiet neighborhood. The Monocular is great, but the legs broke off the tripod the very first time they were moved and they were not tugged hard at all. Plus the set up info is very poor and gives only minimal information on set up. Could not get more than a tiny round visual through the camera set up , though with such little info that could be my fault. Because I'm pleased with the scope I won't be returning this, but I wanted to let people know that they will have to buy a much better set up.

I got this for a trip to Switzerland with my four year old, and it was a lot of fun to use! It kept us busy on planes, trains and boats; as well as while we were waiting for all three. It's got great zoom. It is probably even more functional as a telephoto lens for a camera phone, but that's not how we were using it. We just used it as a telescope/binocular to amuse ourselves looking at houses and cows and paragliders. And my son felt like a pirate every time he used it, which was a fun bonus ;) It was a great purchase! I recommend!

I got this thinking it would work better than other products that are similar, but no. It does not fit easy you have to mess with it a lot to find the right spot and then don't move or you lost it and have to start over. If I was to see it again I would not bother unless they cut the price by 90%

Was not expecting too much at this price but it worked very very well. Not much instruction. I figured out to aim and focus and then zoom the camera just a little to frame the picture on the phone screen (get rid of the rounded edges.
