I found just what I needed at an affordable price
I am the mystery reader for My second grade grandson. Im reading the children’s picture book “Hay Grandude” by Sir Paul McCartney. A compass is the main instrument used in the story. There are 23 students in the class so I bought four sets of six each for $80. I inspected each one And they all looked good and performed as they should. Their gold and shiny case will fit well in the child’s palm. I am sure it will make a memorable gift. That being said, this item is not meant to with stand long-term harsh conditions and the elements of serious outdoor hiking

Fantastic quality, great gift!
Great gift idea for a group of girlfriends. Functional, affordable, but quality looks like they cost more than they do!

Great Value for Teaching Navigation—Perfect for Cub Scout Hikes
For the price point of a multi-pack intended for children or beginner navigation, these are a solid buy. The set provides excellent quantity for the cost. We used these for a Cub Scout hike, giving one to each of the six boys to practice basic navigation. They performed exactly as needed: lightweight, easy to read, and featuring a small ring for attaching to a lanyard or zipper pull. The classic, golden pocket-watch design is aesthetically pleasing, especially for younger kids learning basic orienteering who might find the typical plastic baseplate compasses less engaging. They also have luminous markings, which is a nice feature for low-light conditions. However, in a pack of six, there was a minor quality control issue: one of the six compasses had a slightly stuck needle. When held perfectly flat, the needle would occasionally hesitate or fail to settle on North without a gentle tap. This is disappointing, as it reduces the reliability of that specific unit. Bottom Line: When you purchase affordable multi-packs like this, you have to expect minor inconsistencies. Given the generous quantity and the fact that five out of six units performed perfectly and settled quickly, the value remains excellent. They are ideal for classroom use, Cub Scout events, or simply stuffing into various backpacks and day hike bags where absolute, military-grade precision isn't required. I recommend these, but buyers should check all units upon arrival and be prepared for a small potential return rate.

cheap and dangerous
These are so cheep and so inaccurate that they are dangerous if you are relying on this compass in a wilderness situation. One came broken. Never could get true North even with a magnetizer. The ring is so loose that there is no way to maintain the azimuth without it moving on its own. If I had an enemy that I wanted to get lost, I'd hand them one of these.

These are cheap made in China TOYS but they work!
I bought the 6-pack. They arrived fast, and they look nice.. I gave one as a gift to a coworker who was quitting and it was more of a "I hope you find the direction you are looking for" sentimental (symbolic) gift . and i mailed 2 of them to my 10-year-old nieces as a gift so they can learn North, South, East, West (Never Eat Soggy Waffles). i opened up all 6 and put them on a FLAT surface. they did all eventually find North. and you can pop them out of the chrome container and adjust the paper dial so the arrow faces North, etc But i would NOT use these if you need any serious navigation or to locate your position hiking.

Simple classic gift for teenagers
Not quality enough for hiking back trails, but instead bought for young adult family members as a reminder to keep their lives on a moral compass pointing 'true north'
