Great ladder but needs a better means to keep compressed.
This ladder is fantastic! It compresses for ease of storage and maneuvering. The ladder is rather wobbly due to the multiple pieces, but that works in its favor. The multiple parts give each ladder half the ability to twist in a manner to get the ladder on the best parts of ground for overall stability. The ONLY drawback is that you need the flimzy velcro to hold the compressed ladder together. The velcro falls apart rather quickly. I ended up using a larger rubber coated metal cable/rod/tie to keep this ladder together.

Not easily moved if not fully extended
(UPDATE) as an A frame ladder if not fully extended this ladder can be dangerous. Because the legs do not in the down poition if you reach behind you and lean the ladders legs will extend with you on it. Also the ladder as a fully extended extension ladder has a tendancy to bow really bad at the bottom of the ladder. Basically if you dont set a wide enough angle and get the ladders legs far enough from the wall or building the flexibility of the ladder will have you climbing straight vertical after you hit half way point of your climb. Working on the eves of my house i noticed when on the upper rungs of the ladder that the flexibility in the legs makes the ladder feel really shaky and unstable. I will not be returning this ladder, i will use it only as an A frame ladder and only when the legs are fully extended. It is a nice ladder at full extension. This ladder is a little heavy, but not too bad. It is easily moved and rather stable when fully extended. The rungs do not lock in the down position so moving the ladder if it is not fully extended you can not pick the ladder up and move it you have to drag the ladder across the floor.

Locks from going down but not up will tip!
Ladder really isn’t terrible EXCEPT!!!!!!!!!! If it’s in an A frame position and it’s not completely extended. It locks from coming down but will extend upward with no resistance. If you lean over it it will extend one one side. (It locks from going down not from extending up) other than that it’s a pretty good ladder I use it a lot and make sure to fully extend it in a frame position

Was not stable enough, heavy, difficult to extend/retract compared to others. Seller was responsive
The ladder was shaky, I did not feel comfortable on it. It was complicated to extend and retract, you have to do each rung individually. I have an extendable non-A frame version that is SO much easier to retract…you just pull 2 tabs and it’s pneumatically buffered so it doesn’t slam down…but this one does slam down. It felt dangerous like you could easily get your fingers pinched. Felt difficult to move around when extended too. Finally, it’s a bit too heavy for what I was looking for. Now, all that said, some of this may just be inherent to the needs of the design to make a retractable A-Frame ladder. But if so, well it’s not for me.My package arrived damaged, like I had received a returned item. However, the seller quickly acknowledged and issued a postage paid return. I do believe if it weren’t for the damaged box and potentially receiving a returned item (without being told that’s what I would recieve) I would have had to pay return shipping…..and due to the weight that would have been cost prohibitive. Seller did offer to rebate it before I returned it, but like I said…I didn’t feel comfortable on it.Not a bad transaction, but the product isn’t designed well in my opinion. 3-stars are only for the seller…not the product, it would get 1-star

I cannot recommend this product
As a former manufacturing engineer, I can tell you that this product was inadequately prototyped and use-tested.I have used many, many ladders, and this is barely useable. I have no confidence on it to do anything on the ladder other than to ascend and descend. I really WANTED to like this ladder, but there are several shortcomings. The center joint is terrifying. It might be strong, but it is so flexible that I have no confidence to let go with one hand, and I am not afraid of heights. The clips that lock the steps in place lock only in the extended position. If it locked in position when collapsed, the ladder would be sooooo much easier to manhandle. I recommend using two tall people to set up and collapse the ladder, and they MUST practice before going into the field. After some experimentation, we found that the only safe way we could find of collapse the ladder is to put the ladder into an A position, and collapse from the top rung in a rocking manner. It looks ridiculous, and feels like wrangling a python, but it is safe.If you release the ladder locks incorrectly, the steps collapse like a guillotine on your fingers and thumbs. The risk of serious finger injury is considerable. Now there IS a correct way to collapse the steps, but the first few times out of the box is injury-prone. There is no slow release! There is nothing on the top of the ladder to hold the top in place. Lots of other ladders also lack such a device, but they are nowhere near as flexible as this ladder. Simple hooks would suffice.Unlike competitors, there are step foot grips on both sides of each rung, and that's a big plus, but an adhesive abrasive step would be better and cheaper. The rung clips are demarked with impact stamps, but in most lighting conditions they are nearly invisible.Being who I am, I immediately tried to fix the shortcomings, but finally gave up. This ought never have gotten past the prototype stage of development. I won't return this product, because someone else might injure themselves. I will instead recycle the ladder.i hope this company learns from this product, and refines their process.

An Awesome Piece of Equipment
From my first experience, this ladder is awesome. You have to be careful. You have to read the instructions. You have to move slowly as usual with all ladders. The ladder is easy to transport, easy to use, easy to extend, easy to collapse. I have only used it as a fully-extended A-frame so far, but it has performed beautifully. It is replacing a large Little Giant, which was such great technology 15 years ago, but today I can barely lift and carry this piece of equipment. It is so heavy. I am very happy with this new ladder purchase.
