Something for my grandmother's bag of tricks
I found this book at my library where I was looking for a book to help me with my three active grandchildren under the age of 5.I found it very useful. It has activities for the toddler, the three year old and the almost 5 year old. The activities are doable and fun. After checking it out for the third time, I decided that it was worthy of being added to my collection. I try to find books that will facilitate development, not just fill up time. I have purchased books in the past that didn't live up to their promises but this one certainly has. I would recommend it to moms, grandmas or anyone who enjoys quality play time with young children. The explanations it provides to help the care-giver understand the benefits of these activities was very helpful.

This is a great resouce for daycares, schools, and Montessori programs.
I run a Montessori School for children from infancy though 6 years of age. We have been using the activities and games from this and another of Barbara Sher's book in our classrooms both during groups and when we are outside. Using this resource has assured that not only everything that we do with the children in our care is developmentally supportive, but that all of my staff are aware of the benefits that they are offering the children. The children love the games and the staff love how easy the resource is to use. I love knowning that we are meeting each child's developmental needs in a fun engaging way.

empowering games for all abilities
Barbara Sher has a knack for creating games and activities that empower teachers, parents and children of all abilities. As a special education teacher of 3-5 year old children, I have found her books to be invaluable. Fun, inventive and easy to integrate into regular classroom routines, the games tap into children's innate desire for play while helping them learn and practice skills necessary for success. As a bonus, humorous and moving personal stories from her years of experience are infused throughout.

Games that don't require expensive materials to implement
This book is GREAT!. I have been using Barbara's book for as long as I can remember for my children in Head Start. I like all the games because it is easy to do and materials needed are recycled and can be easily be found around the classroom or at home. Provides a lot of indoor active play most especially for rainy days and last minutes changes in routines. Very creative and unique!!!!!!!!!!

Wonderful games for the whole child!
Try these sensory games and rejoice in their many virtues! These games for the whole child are fun, easy, natural, adaptable and of course, so helpful for getting kids "in sync." Brains and bodies develop best when children are moving in meaningful and enjoyable ways, and Barbara Sher leads the way.
