Great companion for longer trips with aeropress
Great addition to your Aeropress, especially when you are unable to get more paper filters. It is very fine mesh, which allows even "standard" (not reversed) brewing. Coffee tastes great, almost as clean as paper filtered. Many people say, because it's so fine, it's impossible to clean, but I've tossed it into my dishwasher and, as you can see in the pictures (1st pic - after 2 weeks of use with normal rinse 2nd - after one dishwasher cycle), it looks almost as new (no detergent flavour in my coffee either). If you have water grosser (oral irrigator) that works great as an impromptu cleaner for the filter.

Great eco friendly filter, nice clean balanced coffee
I have been using one several times a day for 6 months and it is by far the best metal filter of the 3 I have, far more sturdy than the other mesh one I have. You need far less pressure than paper or the other metal filters I have. I have a quality grinder so that may be why I have a very different experience to some of the less positive reviewers. It does start clogging up after a few weeks use, but after a clean in an ultrasonic cleaner with just water it's as good as new, if you don't have an ultrasonic cleaner baking soda and an old tooth brush is effective.Really nice clean flavour, I guess it all depends if you prefer the paper filter experience with less oils and fines getting through. With a decent grinder I can go quite fine and have a great cup with 80 C water and a minute brew time and I have a really really clean cup of delicious coffee.

Good filter, doesn't drip too much.
I deliberated over buying a metal filter for a while and saw a number of people complaining about other ones allowing the water to pour straight through, meaning only the inverted method could be used. This filter I can confirm is suitable for the conventional pouring method (as well as inverted). Yes, some does dribble through, but the plunger soon provides a vacuum which prevents this. This is a very good filter, well made and easy to clean. I'm not a coffee nazi so I can't comment on the effects the filter has on the flavour and oils etc, but to my tastebuds the coffee tastes exactly the same. A must buy, and way less hassle than the paper filters, it also helps you avoid ingesting microscopic plastic particles which are in the paper filters.

A lot less fiddly than paper.
Easy to use

So easy....
The stainless filter is a brilliant replacement for the paper filters, easy to use, easy to clean and the coffee filters through it just the same as the paper ones.

Clogs easily
I use this with coffee ground in a manual burr grinder, so not quite as even as commercial grinding but better than one of those chopping grinders. After a few weeks I've found the mesh is quite clogged with presumably tiny coffee solids. It doesn't seem possible to clean this fine mesh so I may have to throw it away.Maybe it's better if you don't grind so fine, I don't know.

Great for use in aeropress
Nice idea. Easy to use. East to clean. Really fine pore size but not as fine as the original filter papers supplied.

Not permanent
This thing isn't permanent, it will need replacing eventually - it just gets impossible to push coffee through it. I can't explain why, but I had to replace it.
